I've gotten so much good info from the board, thought I'd share this (tho it has likely been posted before).

Have been vaping a short time and recently had the flu which resulted in a bad cough. I was trying to stay hydrated - drinking lots of water. I just couldn't seem to really hydrate and vaping became pretty uncomfortable.

Others have recommended the sports drinks, etc. for the electrolytes, and they really did help but were getting fairly expensive.

I live on the high plains where it's very, very dry all of the time and cold right now.

I remembered something I'd done a few years ago and did it again: I bought a water purifying pitcher and added celtic sea salt to the water. This drink has made a world of difference because it adds minerals and electrolytes to the water. I can feel that I'm really hydrating.

The general recommendation is 1/4 t of celtic sea salt to 32-64 oz of good water. It's slightly salty but not really disagreeable to me. Give it a try if you're having trouble feeling hydrated.

Keep a pot of water boiling on the wood stove.

Good advice! This time of year the humidity level in your home can get below 20% if you have a fireplace, woodstove, forced air furnace or use electric heat strips. Get a full house humidifier if you can afford it. If you can't, or in addition to that I recommend putting a humidifier in the room you vape in and keep it full and on. Moist air is a great way to avoid dehydration!

This reminded me of a book my Dad gave me about all the awesome properties of salt (non table salt). Totally forgot about this. I am now drinking water with Himalayan Salt from Trader Joes =).

Interesting ecottage. I haven't seen this posted before myself, so thanks. :)

Great advice! At this point I should own stock in Aquafina as I am hooked on the stuff, Tasty water imho!

I will never pay for bottled water. It comes out of every faucet in my house (a miracle) for next to nothing! Get yourself a filter and spend the savings on vape gear.

Spot on advice.. Not to mention the benifical effects of pure water with complete trace mineral base. It's great just
For health reasons you don't need to use as much salt though,
with RO or Distilled it creates perfect water. Tsp per gallon I think it shouldnt really taste salty just smooth. Never drink distilled or RO filtered water alone. It's stripped of minerals and actually unhealthy in the long run. Spring water if going bottled.
