Here's another option:

Take some thin wire lead free solder (radio shack) and wrap a few coils around the tip of a pair of tweezers making a ball. Press the ball of solder into the threaded section of the button cap. Because it's so soft and pliable it won't damage the threads and will mold itself when you screw in the plunger. Also, it's easy to remove if you get tired of it.

More makes the button higher....less for lower. When you get the height where you want it, assemble the switch, give it a good twist so it's good and tight, and put it on the tube. Just make sure you don't make the button top too high otherwise the knurled locking ring will unscrew before it locks.

It's invisible, removable, and doesn't damage the switch.

Great stuff Para! I love it! In fact I have to try that right now.

Let me know how it works thinking about trying this along with a small washer or o ring to increase the throw a little easier.

I've also been thinking about making my own adjustable throw button but I think I am just to lazy to try lol.

Well I am using that nylon washer from a CE2 on #1376. I wish I could source those as I have no replacement for it when it does split and that extra 1mm of throw it gives is great with the magnets in use.

The nylon or nylon-like materials seem to offer a good compromise between how little they "squish" out the sides and still are not so rigid that they split easily. ;)

I pulled appart 3 differend Ce2 cartos a known r 4 and r 5 and another but it was either to thick or it popped out if I tightened it down. Also my button only has about 1.5-2mm of space between the locking ring and the button cap it goes about half this distance to actually make contact. Because of this I would need something <1mm to still be able to make contact. However if I used the solder technique and added say 2mm I could put in a 1mm or 1.5mm washer and still make contact and gain that much throw so I would feel more confident about the button press.

As for making a button it wouldn't take much more then 2 locking rings and a threaded tube roughly the same size as the current tube (maybe 1-2mm longer) and the solder trick to improvise my own. Sand one of the rings down to be about half as thick to act as the adjust ring. It would act the same way as the old adjustable throw button. Maybe next time I go to the area I will stop at Ace and see if they have anything that will work.
