Okay, I apologize if im being a pest, Im just so excited with my Steam Machine. Ive been studying and watching many videos and reading so many posts about making wicks etc. Is using non-resistance wire necessary with the steam machine? Ive been seeing many genesis types using only kanthal and the VIVI nova even with the non-ceramic heads use only kanthal or nichrome. It just seem easier not having to connect the resistance to the non-resistance legs. Please let me know if anyone has done this with their steam machine or if it will harm anything. Thanks again.

Not a pest, man, sorry just saw this. It all depends on the length of the 'legs'. The run of wire from the coil to the ground cup is pretty long. I'd bet you would be popping wire after short use, and would probably get some pretty nasty hits if the section is burning your juice. I've been playing around with the wire combo, and am looking into the 'crimps' that Todd picked up. Solder would be the ultimate, but need one of those 'helping hands' things to make it work. The no res wire really is the way to go on this device. If anyone has had a different experience, speak up.

No one? I guess I am a pest?

thats what i figured. Just thinking about simplicity. Im sure with more experience it will become natural. I dont know what to do with the legs at the joining of the non- and the resistance wires. Should the area where the wires meet and twist together should they be up next to coil or start down the cup and threads. I put the wick and coil together rather quickly compared to the vivi nova lately. I did a couple of VN builds with no problems, then on my next half dozen I was getting the most horrible burning and just awful. Saw a tutorial where you take the legs and twist them back on each other so you dont get the burned cup and it worked . Perfect 2.2 ohm. I started thinking about how that would work on the steam machine so I thought Id ask. Thanks, Im really enjoying it. Has anyone got the GIni base for the Steam Machine? I wonder how much juice it holds compared to the reg VST. Im a vape hog and I have to constantly add more juice.

You want the joint section to be as close to, or even touching, the wick. The shorter the amount of res wire coming off the wick the better.

I ordered one of the 50/50 main tubes from Kir Fanis a week ago or so. Kind of in preparation for the 'gini'. May be a little while before I get the gini, but looking forward to it. Hmmm, interesting question, not sure how much it would hold. I would guess around 5ml? Maybe atmomixani or kalafan can answer that.
