Howdy Steam Troopers,

As anyone who's followed me knows, I'm developing in the Z2 system.

I've got a billion ideas rolling around in my head and I want to get some feedback from you guys.

The Z2 system, as of right now has a genesis style atomizer, a carto tank, a 510 head, a bottom fire switch, the 'sidewinder' body, all three major battery tubes (350, 490, 650) available in multiple finishes and materials.

In a couple of weeks, my rebuildable dripping atomizer will launch so that'll get added to the line up as well as some brass tubes and a new bottom fire brass switch....

but what's next?

My goal is to push the Z2 'spec' into a full modular system. I want any vaper to be able to buy into the system and build the PV of their dreams. To get there, I know I'm gonna need to make some more bits and bobs.

What do YOU want to see in the way of Z2 parts? Side fire switch? thumb switch (i.e. at the top of the device, not the bottom), a different type of atomizer or connection? box devices? integrated battery devices with built in charging?

I can make 'anything' happen, I want to know what YOU want to see...

Share this with your friends, this is an opportunity to talk directly with a supplier who's willing to take your feedback into account on 'what to launch next'

I've got a number of projects on the whiteboard right now that are at different phases of design, if I see an overwhelming desire for one or another project, I'll shift my priorities. If I see a project I hadn't thought of, I'll start working on it.

Let's hear what you want, drum up some noise in here, get the conversation and brain storming rolling, I'll monitor the thread and give feedback on ideas as they come in abotu feasibility, cost, etc, as best as I can.

I don't have my own forum here to have discussion posts so I've taken one of my two alloted "vendor threads" to get this data, use it up folks!

Adjustable 510 connection, Adjustable airflow, different style of switch (shorter throw and locking mech).

adjustable 510 as in, a center pin you can move? Cause, technically, you can back out the center pin on the current 510 head ;)

As far as adjustable airflow, on what? The Carto tank has it's own defined airflow, not sure I can tweak that really, the Genesis style from Zen has a 1/16th hole in it, are you talking about maybe a different cap for the zenesis or for the dripper I'm coming out with that has an adjustable airflow?

And i'm working on a few switch designs :) I copied the existing Zen switch guts for this release, but down the line I'll hopefully have a couple of new switches in the mix. Shorter throw with a lock, noted. What if it wasn't a lock but a 'guard' instead? something that kept it from firing when sat down or in the pocket but didn't actually 'lock' the switch?

And regarding the telescopic. That's a complicated one. To make a Zen2 device telescopic you'd have to put the telescoping portion on the outside of the existing body, the tolerances on the inside of the tube are way too tight to fit a 'sleeve' into it. Well, I take that back, it's possible but it'd require a bit of a rethinking on some parts and it'd end up looking very much like a K100 or a K100 upside down. putting a tube 'inside' the existing barrel to make it mimic some of the other telescopic devices out there would be extraordinarily difficult.

Sorry I don't have a 510 connection. I was thinking that they were not adjustable. Adjustable airflow for the dripper. Maybe I missed when you said it would be adjustable. Lol. A guard wouldn't be bad for the switch. But I'm not crazy about the ihybrid guard

if I did a guard, it'd be a retractable one.

The dripper doesn't have adjustable airflow, it's just got a 1/16th air hole in the cap. I'm working on other cap options for the dual coil crowd, etc, and might even do a 'blank' cap for people who want to drill it themselves. It's all still in the works and dependant on what kind of requests I see post launch.

I've scratched 4 designs for a thumb switch since i started working on this project. my initial plan was to launch with a thumb switch.

It's been done a couple of times and every way it's been done so far, I completely dislike. It's arc city, gonna have some serious contact wear, and the assembly process/cost to manufacture is ridiculous. It's something I'm actively working on, but I won't release one until I'm 100% happy with the design. I'm concurrently working on 3 switch alternatives, no idea when any of them will come out or if some one will beat me to the punch but they're on my board.

I JUST ordered some magnets yesterday to play with a weird little idea I had. I'm pretty sure it won't work, or if it does, it'll be too annoying to manufacture but... if it does, it'll be cool :)

Magnets have some issues that are annoying to overcome, not impossible, but they can introduce some resistance to the device that would have a negative impact on performance if you don't do it 'just' right.

im not sure how similar your switch is to the original z2, but it would be nice to have different options or accessories for switches. for example I have a alpha/bb mod spring in mine.. works better then the stock gold plated switch.. so for example different spring thickness, also so you could make the throw harder or softer. and maybe a silver coating. I would like a silver coated screw and spring..just ideas

I will probably not offer that level of customization. I can post some of the specs, like replacement screw types, etc, for people who really want to do that, but that granular of customization would just be a bear to deal with. From a business perspective, it's not a viable thing to do.

As for how similar it is to the existing zen switch, internally it's identical to the best of my knowledge. My button is brass instead of stainless, it's got the gold plated screw, gold plated spring, etc. But that's for the 'other' thread ;)

A lot of people always complain about the Zen switches not having a locking ring or lock of some sort. I own 3 Zen II devices and even though the spring is hefty enough to not need a lock on the switch, If there was a optional switch with a lock on it, I would for sure buy one. I like to mess around with thinner springs in the Zen switch, Making it a little easier to push the switch BUT doing so, The Zen 2 needs a lock on the switch, Since the thinner spring cannot hold the weight of the device without it firing.

I am certain that if you offered a switch with a locking ring or lock of some sort, They would sell VERY well.

steamturbine, the fancy Genesis style?

I'm not planning another genesis style device for a little while. the Zenesis is 'out there' and available so, I didn't see a hole in the market to fill there. I was tryin to avoid duplicating products other manufacturers make (for now, pretty much just Zen) just so we could broaden the market instead of directly competing with one another within the system itself.

If you want, PM me your reasons for wanting a steamturbine over the Zenesis and I'll start looking at options.

No ones said Kayfun yet, I expected that to be the first thing mentioned lol. So I'll mention it :p I'm working on a tweak / accessory that will enable flush mounting of hte Kayfun/Russian devices onto a Zen device. I know a lot of folks were upset about the 'gap' when a Kayfun/russian was put on a Z2 510 head. I'm tryin to get ahold of a Kayfun light or a Russian 91% to test with, but those things are hard to come by!
