No. I had to pulse the hell out of it. But it does make it easier to work out hot spots on the coil after pulsing. It oxidizes the wick only where it needs to be, then most of the time there are no hot spots. You'll still have to tweak the coil from time to time but then again, you have to do that with any genny. The only hot spots I get once in awhile on my genny micros is on the top wrap but I just hit the button and tweak it while its red and easy to move. Just dont hold the fire button and touch the coil with metal for too long or you'll pop the coil. Also be patient with the pulsing thing. Rush it and you'll be popping coils

Question for all who have a clone Steam Turbine... and hopefully, a real one to compare to.

For the purposes of being able to meet co-op rules, how close are the clones to the real deal? Are there differences, or are they dead nutz 1:1 including all dimensions and markings?

Gracias... muchas gracias.

Well I found out the stock holes on the original are 1/32 which is very small. And the whole key to the original are the stacked holes so I don't think a single hole on one of the coils would be the same, nor would a single 1/16 hole.

Also found out today 1/32 is very hard to find in local hardware stores. Closest I found was a Vermont America brand #60 which is just slightly bigger than 1/32 (within 0.01mm). This size is so small you have to be pretty precise. I'm definately having a shop do it but I'll have to bring my own bit.

So has anyone succesfully drilled or modded theirs? Lets hear the results!

Thanks Bern D... that may be enough right there to allow it for a co-op.

Anyone else have something they've noticed they'd care to share?

My Steam Turbine clone is incoming and due Saturday. I won't drill out the holes, as it will be going on to someone else . . . after I play with it for a while. I have a dual coil Macaveli with only one airhole in the top cap and it does fine. It has a good size 3/32 airhole on it though, and lining it up between the coils is not an issue.

I bought my 1/16" drill bits here. New Titanium Drill Bits 1 16" Through 1 4" for $ 99 Each Bulk | eBay

I followed the link in OP's opener, but can't get a response from those folks. When I talked to them a few weeks ago, they said they didn't have stock and it wouldn't be in for a month or so. Where are you guys getting these clones? I want one sooooo bad!

Co-ops, so far. They should be hitting vendors this week too.

*EDIT* Bucky has 29 of them right now Hcigar Atomizer Clone [atomizerclonehcigar] - $39.86 : Buckys Bargain Vaping, Discount Vaping Supplies $38.33 Damn good price! Get em while they last!

They are also readily available on calivapers.com in the classified (not group buy). I had two sets of holes drilled with a Vermont America #60. On one set I just had the original holes drilled to that size (1 mm) and backed it off the threads slightly to align with the coil, then had them drill on the opposite for the other coil. Brought in my own bit and it's so small they didn't even have an adapter that would fit right. They improvised with a little ss mesh. Thank God it worked, but the process was a pain.

It performs great. It gets hot and sucks down juice like crazy even at 1 ohm. I still like the Kayfun better though, but at least I satisfied my dual coil genny building curiosity. For the price though this is a good tank

I grabbed one from the Facebook group buy with Carolyn and it's hit and miss in certain areas.

First, it came very rough. The glass is rough and the wick holes were rough. I redrilled the wick holes and they turned out fine. I don't really know what to do for the glass so I won't mess with it. I drilled out the top air hole to 1/16" and it was ok, but I also drilled another hole over where the second wick is. Huge difference. I ended up drilling that other hole out to 1/8" and it now has a very airy draw (which I like). I am not really a cloud chaser, but it's quite amazing how much vapor this thing kicks out. lol so much, in fact, that I am refilling the tank about every 4 hours. Using ss cable with mesh on the wick above the deck, it is just soaking up the juice.

I have used quite a few genny style tanks and I have never had one hit like this in dual wick configuration. I get more vapor and better taste than most of the RDA's I have used in dual coil configuration. It does get insanely hot though. Another problem is the drip tip hole. At least half of my drip tips wont fit in the hole. It's not just an O-ring problem, but the stems won't fit. I could drill that out as well, but i'm not gonna bother. My only other complaint, and it has nothing to do with the clone because the original is the same way, is that the wick holes are too close to the negative screws. It's almost impossible to keep your coils off of the negative screws and this can cause hot legs on the bottom.

My girlfriend ordered one on Congrevape, but we have no idea when it's going to ship so I don't know who made it or how it's going to turn out. All-in-all, I am very happy with this thing. Great buy for the price.
