I normally steep with the cap on and give my bottle a couple of shakes every third day. I only let them sit with the cap off when a test vape or two has an alcohol aftertaste, normally it will sit sans cap for 24-36 hours. I'll re-test the juice for the alcohol element, and if it has dissipated the bottle gets capped. Some evaporation is due to the removal of the alcohol content in the juice.

What I'm mean is if you leave them with the dripper in for a month or two do you see that liquid has evaporated on it? I didn't explan very well sorry. I should have put more info in there.
V8, I've had bottles that have steeped for a couple of months (I went on a VV spending spree with my Christmas money in December) and didn't notice evaporation. Maybe Larkfour sneaked into your house and took a leeeetle at a time :)
