Somehow, I dont think this will have an easy answer but hopefully someone has tried this before. I know steeping changes the flavor of my e-juices but I dont know the science behind it. I have had multiple flavours come to me brand new and they smell and taste like nothing I have ever tasted. Within two weeks I try them again and they turnout to be one of my favorite vapes. My question to the forum is, "does it matter if it is steeped with or without the cap"? Will they steep quicker if I take the lid(s) off? I have always let them sit fully packaed or sealed tight.

Thanks you in advance,

I steep my juices with the cap on ... but like the above members already stated, there are those who believe in cap off.

FYI, there is a recent thread around here which discusses the evaporation of nicotine levels in juice, and I believe (don't quote me) that the rate of evaporation is higher when juices are steeped with the cap off ... something like 24mg reduced to 2mg over the course of 72 hours ... I would search for that thread because it was an interesting read.

Thanks fellows, I think I'll stick to the cap on method as it has been effective so far and I dont want to risk loosing any of my nic. I've had a couple of suspicious bottles where the nic level was not the same as what was printed on them. I tend to smoke all day if I dont stay around 14mg/ml to18mg/ml.
Sounds llike an interesting read regarding the nicotine evaporation. I hope I can find it.

I am still in a wonderment about this mysterious "steeping" that is discussed all the time... I live in the South - South Carolina to be a bit more accurate... We "steep" our tea when brewed and it is done by finishing the brew cycle by turning the heat off and letting the tea bags sit in the water or water / sugar mix until it cools, hence the "steep" is the cooling process where the flavor is drawn out of the tea bags. If you do not heat the juice up, how can it possibly "steep" let alone cool and draw flavor from something that isn't even in the mix? I simply don't get it. Once a juice is mixed, it's mixed. Somebody please explain...
