Guys,
so I just got my first shipment from 5 Pawns - do I really just unbox, open up and step away for 2 weeks????

AlBaron

You mean the box says to let them steep and you're asking "do I REALLY have to "

or

you are just wondering if all eliquids need time to steep?

Does it have a 'born on' date

"born on" date???... boy, I have sooo much to learn...

Apparently, yes, each little bottle from the Mixology Sample pack I got from 5 Pawns (absolutely exquisitely packaged, I might add), has a 6/1/2014 date on them.

Welcome Tony! Obviously you don't have to do anything, there isn't a vapor police squad waiting in the wings to come arrest you for failing to steep but you will be rewarded with taste if you elect to do so. Steeping is much like aging liquor or allowing wine to rest and change from good to downright magnificent; there are flavor nuances that will deepen and/or mellow over time.

Good; that means the mixture was put together on that date.

Today is the 16th June, so the bottles have had 2 weeks time steeping as it is.

I know I am in the 99.999999% minority, but I can honestly tell no difference - out of the mailbox, or let it sit for a while. I read what everyone said about "steeping" when I first started vaping, and tried it. I saw no reason to do it again. I vape my juice when I get it, and it tastes fine to me. :)

steeping as used here has a different connotation than steeping a tea bag.its mostly about letting the air introduced by the mixing settle out,and the highly dispersed additives settle in closer together.literally the molecules get closer together.if one took a bunch of box shaped, spherical shaped and pyramid shaped objects and dispersed them in to a container evenly spread a part, that represents the mix.some times thats all thats needed depending on the flavor.some how ever need a little more time.a little agitation and time will help purge out the air and let the objects settle closer together in a more homogeneous blend.

Here's what can you do. Get a whole bunch of different e-liquids and start vaping. You'll have so much variety and so little time that steeping will just be something that happens regardless of whether you meant for it to or not.

that's pretty much what I ended up doing - within 48 hours of discovering this forum, I've placed orders with (granted, mostly sample sets, but still): Nikoticket, HHV, Five Pawns and ALtCig (that Churro just sounded too good not to try). I'm also waiting for Tuesday noon to place an order with Alice in Vapeland as well...

I find it really depends on the flavor you are vaping and your personal tastes.I order my liquids from Virgin Vapor, from the absolute virgin line. Some of the flavors are great without steeping, but some definitely need to steep for a few days.I ordered a flavor from them called 'night blooming jasmine' and it tasted really perfumey.I let it steep for 4-5 days and now it's one of my faves!
