I see the term "steeping" used a lot with e-juices. That seems like a misuse of the term. Steeping, by every definition I've seen, means to soak something in a liquid, temporarily. Nothing is being "soaked", it's already a liquid. Letting something sit over time is just "aging". No one says I steeped my wine for x amount of time.

So am I not steeping when i take my ejuice and soak it in a hot water bath? By your definition I am steeping. Thank you and enjoy the forum. :)

Coming from a culinary back ground I was confused by the use of "steeping" as well. I prefer "aging" as it is more apropos of what one is doing when letting the juice sit and develop.

technically you're steeping the flavoring in the base, kind of sorta , only like tea steeping a pot, it's more an infusion, but it's all Jargon and steeping is what the vaping community seems to have chose for aging liquid in a dark place. *shrugs*

So I'll just put my ADV in my DCT APV after steeping and blow some clouds, it sure beats the cig-a-likes. :p

Sorry it bothers you but I just go with what I read about and learn the terminology. I don't have to like it. Analog makes me think of clocks, drippers makes me think of incontinence. Steeping makes me want a cup of tea. Does it really make a difference? Have fun and enjoy and call it whatever you like. I would know what you were talking about if you said "aging". Of course that makes me think about getting old and trying to get a rise out of people.
