Hi All!

I recently purchased some juice and just got it in the mail yesterday. I purchased five different flavors and am enjoying two of them, however the other three don't taste at all like what I thought they would. Maybe it's because I'm new to this, but I've also read a little about steeping. Do you think that could help "develop" the flavors that I'm not enjoying so much? I was only able to find older posts on this topic and wanted to see if there was anything new out there. I have found that when I put a few drops of the fruit flavored in with a few drops of tobacco flavored juice (that I've had for a couple of months), it seems to taste a little bit better as it cuts the flavor a bit.

BTW, the flavors I'm not enjoying as much are called Peach Pie (tastes kind of like peach schnapps instead of pie), Caramel Apple (not getting either of these flavors from this and leaves an icky feeling in my mouth/throat from some kind of sweet flavor), and Pumpkin Pie (not sure how to describe the taste on this one, but no crust, pumpkin or cinnamon...although I taste some kind of spice, maybe nutmeg?).

I'm vaping off a Joyetech 510 battery with a cartridge and atomizer (3 piece unit) and dripping into the cartridge. Originally, I was filling the cartridge and dripping a couple of drops into the atomizer, per instructions I saw on the site where I bought it. Maybe I'm mixing up a bunch of flavors and that's why I'm not liking them?

So sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I haven't wasted my money before trying everything I can! BTW, what do you do with juices that you don't like?

TIA!

Steeping might help, but for testing flavors, I recommend a drip tip setup (you can just use a cartridge without any of the polyfill to get the same effect, but not the ease of use), and get a little bottle of pure PG to wash away old flavors, or use a different atomizer for each flavor. Mixing is very likely in your case.

Absolutely try steeping, lid off for a day or two, put the lid back on and shake daily, give it a few more days and try it again. If you still don't care for them, let them steep like this, lid off another day or two, with shaking, for a few weeks and try again. Steeping doesn't help all juices, but can help many and it's worth a try for a juice you aren't liking at all initially. You can even try the hot (not boiling) water method to speed up the flavor mixing/enhancing.

I've ordered some new carts for trying new flavors, as well as a bunch of new sampler packs (learned me lesson!). I will also look into the dripping method using the carts with no filling. My problem is that I dripped into the atty as well as the cart and 2 days later it's finally starting to taste like the liquids I'm using.

The impact of steeping depends on the eliquid as well as on the vendor. If you are vaping bulk Dkang eliquid, stuff shipped from China, it will already be at its final flavor -- several weeks go by from production to delivery to a reseller, to the time you have it in hand.

On the other hand, if say it's a KBV or BWB eliquid, mixed in the US right near the time you ordered it, it might well change flavor for at least several weeks. I DIY my own eliquid, there is one blend that doesn't start to approach final flavor for 2 weeks, and definitely improves for another couple weeks; other eliquids I make are pretty close to final flavor within a day, it depends on how the particular flavorings interact.

If you're fairly new to vaping you can expect to hit flat spots, a day or two at a time where many eliquids will have little/no taste (a strong menthol might still come through, else just vape something cruddy since you can't taste it :) ), combined with the fact that many of us have tastes that evolve a LOT through the first several months of vaping.

A "meh" eliquid I would likely put aside for a couple weeks, then re-try. If it's still not for me, pass it along.
