Hey ECF :D
I have a question regarding steeping with zero nicotine e-juice. Is steeping just for (NOOB ALERT) nicotine e-juice? Will it do anything with zero nicotine e-juice? I've had an RY4 and a Pear/Strawberry juice with no nicotine for a week now, with caps off, and they taste exactly the same they did when I first got them. The RY4 didn't even taste like anything at all. In fact, the Pear/Strawberry tasted VERY similar to the RY4(I used different cartomizers and tanks). It seems that steeping just isn't my friend. :(

Thank you for you time!

It could be you got a bad batch, which happens. What company did you order from? I love the Vanda flavor from Johnson's Creek, and have ordered 3 bottles to date. Out of the 3, I swear the 2nd one was bad because it had no flavor compared to the other 2 bottles and was thinner appearing. I think it happens since they make so much of it.

    How long on average do you steep new juices? Will they still steep with the caps on or is it best to remove them? I get concerned about evaporation and losing out on some of the product.

    I have found generally that the more complex the mix the longer it needs to steep :)

    Pre-mixed or fresh made? Don't think the nic would make any difference. :( You may just not like those... sorry.

    Steeping is actually for juices that are freshly made. Many of the larger companies make large batches and the bottles usually sit on the shelf and are steeped before they're shipped. Most Vendors will happily tell you whether or not their juice needs steeping.

    :thumb:: I agree with this.

    The vendors that don't mix their custom or complex flavors until you make the order might need steeping. Most fruit flavors will not need steeping, but something more complex like desert, coffee, or tobacco flavors likely will benefit with 1 -2 weeks of steeping from their "birth date".

    If the vendor uses alcohol as a base in their juice; taking the caps off for a day or two will allow the alcohol to evaporate, otherwise you may detect a "perfume taste". Otherwise, just shaking the bottles frequently and allowing them to sit in a cool dark location is all you need to do.

    Some vapors attempt to speed the steeping time by using some form of heat. I personally don't advocate this with nicotine eliquids as heat can cause it to degrade.

    Preference in juice flavors is extremely subjective. What one person likes another will hate. I have to admit that there are some bad tasting flavors out there, and not all juice mixologists are adept at every flavor that they make.

    Be aware that as a recent smoker, your taste buds have been damaged from years of smoking. Your sense of taste may be off for a month or two until your taste buds heal. Try to remember to exhale some of your vapor through your nose, as your sense of smell plays a large part in determining flavor.

    I got the juices from Elitevaporworks. The Pear/Strawberry(Pearberry) came free with my order of the KGO and I bought the RY4 separately from them.
    It was really bothersome. Every flavor I tried tasted exactly like the Pearberry. I'm going to drink lots of water while I vape and try other varieties of flavors. Just ordered some dekang juices(heard some are really strong in flavor). I could be needing that. Haha

    It's good to see that what I experienced is normal. :p
