Seems to be largely a matter of preference. Steeping is just "setting aside" juices to give their flavor(s) more time to blend, and for some juices this may not even be necessary (depending on how they taste to you). I try them when I receive them, and if they don't thrill me that day, I leave the caps on, set them aside and forget about them for a few weeks.

Both LOL I let them sit for a week with the caps on in a cool dark place. Then after a week I take the caps off for a couple of days, if they still have that chemical/perfume smell to them I let them sit longer with the caps off. Only a couple of flavors have had the perfumy (is that even a word?) kind of smell to them for me. Some of the fruit flavors are perfect when they arrive, my tobacco flavors usually need to steep a little bit. AVE Hype and Mountain Berry were perfect with no steeping as soon as they arrived, my only complaint with those two is that my Mountain Berry was all gone in 2 days lol it was just that damned good!
