The point of variable voltage or variable wattage is you now have the capacity to tweak your voltage to best suit the resistance of the device you are using and the liquid. The issue with a fixed voltage battery is the only way you can change the experience - doesn't seem to have enough flavor, vapor production seems low etc. - is the change the resistance of the device you are using. That can get kludgy - "was that a 2.2 ohm coil or 2.0 ohms?" and expensive - buying and trying different resistance devices to find what works best.

With VV just a small change in voltage - in either direction - can make a big difference in what flavor you get out of any given liquid. VV gives you that flexibility to find the best - that's all.

Variable wattage (VW) is just another way of approaching it. If you see advanced devices that claim both VV and VW modes you don't have to over think it. It's just two different modes to achieve the same goal: being able to tweak your battery output to give you the best performance with your device and liquid of choice.

For someone like you who has never experienced playing with VV I usually recommend starting with something like a Twist or Spinner. Once you get the idea of "Oh, that's how this works!" it will lead to more questions and a better purchase choice when deciding what you want in a more advanced device. And since you already have the eGo charger - all you need to do is pick out the battery you want.
