I believe it is a myth that you have to want to quit smoking.
There are way too many people who have quit smoking accidentally by using electronic cigarettes.

What you need to do is find whatever it takes to make you like vaping better than smoking.
And that differs for every single person on earth, from what I can tell.
:)

As an example, look at this poll to see the variances from person to person...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ou-put-down-those-last-couple-cigarettes.html

So the bottom line is to find out EXACTLY what is keeping him from liking vaping better than smoking.
And then we can help figure out how to fix that.

You could try getting him a disposable at the local gas station or drug store and letting him try it. I drove myself crazy trying to quit on the lil 510 e-cigs like that, but do still have one here in the drawer that I pull out and "play with" a bit... As was mentioned, your BF has to want to quit smoking, and not much you can do to change his mind, other than encourage him when you can. My GF kinda surprised me the other day. I had vaped a bit, and kissed her. She said "You've been eating candy" ... And make sure to remind him to brush his teeth after smoking the stinkies before kissing you! Good Luck ...

Exactly. Everyone has different vaping experiences they prefer. And it is those experiences that help nullify the triggers we get for wanting a cigarette. So really the bottom line is ... keep trying until you find something that works.

Maybe it won't even come in the form of a specific device. Maybe you need a certain juice ... maybe even WTA. And even if something helps to curb the amount of cigarettes you are smoking, that is better than nothing. Quitting cold turkey and only vaping on Day 1 is NOT the only option ...

I almost bought a blu this week but couldn't bring myself to do it. To much cost for what it is. Maybe pick up a cheap 808. I like my 808 things. Probably gonna catch hell from the other girls for this, but here it goes. Try catering to him. Charge his batteries and refilling his stuff. Maybe it will seem like less of a hassle to vape.

Size is definitely an issue for me. My old ego-t batteries are just too big and heavy! Combining a boge Sr cartomiser with a 510 battery is definitely preferable and I've invested in a pcc to help with consistency and battery life...fingers crossed i can well and truly cut down! Since Monday im down from 20 analogues per day to 10...I've also upped my nicotine from 12mg to 18mg from my last attempt...x

Quitting by accident is great, isn't it? :)

It was kinda the same for me. I got an e-cig just to try it, see if they were better than the old ones were. I figured at best I would vape and smoke together like I had before. After a few hours of vaping, I didn't even want an analog, they suddenly tasted horrible.

Not for me. The girlie smokes, I need a couple of "toofs" (not "toots") when she smokes.
I don't like it, but have to give it a go. They're foul IMHO but I have to do it. Habbit? Smell (stinks)? 5h!t happens, hopefully I'll deal with it.

I need to find a non-smoker who'll put up with a vaper!

Slight flaw in your plan. Tis people like me who didn't want to quit. Hell I still have "toofs"
Vaping is different to smoking. Some people persist at it and swap.
No point flogging a dead horse, let them decide for themselves

To Zuette, you may have wanted to change. Don't try to influence^H^H^H^H^H force/change those who don't want to. They might catch on later.
Take it slowly

Apologies for posting twice

Theres more pleasure to smoking, neuro-chemically speaking, than vaping.

If you are hooked and have no desire to give up, your less likely to do it (_most_ people who give up do so intentionally, and without ambivalance).

That said, there alot of ritual in any drug consumption. As a noob (vaped for about three months prior, but went back to smoking. Trying again now soon to return to just vaping):

I personally love the idea of sticks, and dislike the ideal of hookah style smoking out of darth vaders nicotine .....

I mean if I were a stoner, i wouldnt want to cut out all the scissoring, the packing, the implement etc. If i were a drinker, I wouldnt want to skip out the mixing, the adding ice. Putting your feet back, and taking in the veiw, etc. the exhalation the nearly universal to either, and smoking after a long break "Ahhh". The ritual is part of the whole deal, its part of the enjoyment.

Like the way you move your arm away after a drag, kinda like your gesturing to something distant, or punctuating the feeling. Or waving your "ciggie" hand around when your talking to someone. Or pacing about on the deck with it.

Sure, you can replace the ritual with another, but thats an adjustment, and not one everyone wants to make.
