Hey guys. Not so much a newbie anymore but would liek opinions. I have a DSE901 love to death. But then again, the penstyle/Pilot from Pursemoker offers better vapor and longer battery life. Should I build a DIY Magnum for my 901 or get the Pilot? I like the 901 because the parts are easy to get and the Magnum mod looks like it helps with vapor production and long-term power, plus the batteries are available local. But the Pilot/penstyles look good to with long battery lifer and good vapor. What do yall suggest?

Do both! Building mods is extremely satisfying and it's a nice way to learn simple wiring and soldering. The results are amazing as well. With that said, a commercial unit still has the benefit of being the most unobtrusive out in public due to its more compact nature. I haven't tried the Pilot but I do have a Dura C on order since I'm hooked on manual switches now.

Just so you know....the Pilot is not a penstyle. 2 different animals. And you'd probably be pretty safe with a penstyle.

Oh, my bad for confusing the 2. I guess I'm still a little bit new. What kept me from getting the Pilot or the penstyle was that the current mods seem to be based on 901s, like the Magnum. I love the idea of a reliable, rechargeable, easily attainable battery pack. Don't care if it looks goofy or not! But the cartridge size does come into play, although I'm not adverse to refilling via syringe, topping off and dripping.

I agree with eskimo, love the manual switch thing. It gives you a lot more control. I've been running on one battery for my 901 and a usb mod from one of my failed batteries for about two months now.

I do want to get another device soon but i'm looking seriously at the Rio from vapornine.
