Stick with a anyvape davide or get iclear 30s?

Pretty much what the title says. I love my Anyvape Davide. I find a lot of tanks don't take much to leak or even to accidentally leak by user error. This thing though you have to intentinally dissamble it for it to "leak". Some tanks you have to handle carefully for liquid to not go anywhere. The anyvape davide well I think the just design and placement of the o-rings make it a beautiful fortress and easily dissambled. However I seem to go through atomizers like crazy. Though when they "die" they don't start shooting liquid, or leaking. They just have a bad taste. This can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month.
For 5 replacements coils it's about $12. 5 x 2 weeks = 10 weeks = 3 1/4 months. Not too bad. But let's consider the e-liquid. When you start adding things up it's quite expensive. I've heard that the iclear 30s has much more durable atomizers that last at a minimum 1 month. Considering those are about the same price for a 5 pack replacement. You go from spending $12 every 3 1/4 months to 5 months. Essentially (if they do last that long) you are saving in the long run.
Though I'm not sure I want to sacrifice cleaning ability (anyvape davide is very easy to clean), or sacrifice the overall vaping experience (like taste).

In short: What are the clear differences between the anyvape davide and iclear 30s?

I used to use an iClear30, and never once experienced 30 days out of a coil. What I did experience was dry hits and muted flavour. I would suggest you look into a Protank2/3 or an AeroTank. The tanks come completely apart for ease of cleaning. Coils if treated properly can last up to 2 weeks, beyond that and in my experience they tend to taste burnt. The good news is the coils are relatively the same price or less than your current set up. I've seen 5 packs for $7. The better news, is down the line you can learn to recoil them yourself and that's where the savings will come into play.

Important to make the distinction between the "old" iClear30 and the two "new" ones.

My rating for the original iClear is 2/10
For the iClear30B 4/10
For the iClear30S 8/10

The 30S drinks liquid at a terrifying rate. So, that has to be factored in.

I get one week from a Protank head and one month from an iClear30S.

I've owned and used Davides also.

Value for money - the 30S wins, comfortably even with the weekly visits to juice anonymous.

Do I like it? Yes... it's very good on a powerful mod. It's a disaster on a Spinner or iTasteVV.

Confused? Probably.... :)

if you are going to get an iclear.. make sure it is the iclearo30-S ... these are substantially better imo..

I have wicks last 2 weeks easily.. and never have any dry hits.

I use 2.1 ohm heads and use from 4.0-4.4 watts and never have gotten a dry hit.. I have 4 S-type iclear's... I also like the iclear30b's (bottom coil) but I think the flavor is a little more muted.. or at least from my experience so far with them.

Lol, I wish I got a week out of my PT heads.. seems like I get 2-3 days .. maybe 4 if i'm lucky.. its frustrating as hell. I do vape a lot, but compared to the iclear heads its not even a comparison how bad they are.

I do rotate a number of clearomisers, so 2-3 days doesn't surprise me.

The iClear 30S is a fantastic little clearo. One of the easiest out there. Never leaks, never gurgles, and has great taste. My ONLY problem with them is I cannot seem to vape at anything more than about 6.5 watts which really isn't enough for the coils, but if I push it any higher I get a really nasty burned taste from it.

I've heard from others who can vape at much higher wattages, so I'm assuming it's a wicking issue with the coils I've had.

My response was referencing the iClear30. I've no experience using either of the 2 follow-up models, so I can't speak to performance of either.
I didn't mean to confuse anyone if I did.

What are you doing to them? Are these store bought replacements or recoils? I still use my PT2 with coils I make with 32G Kanthal and organic cotton wicks and don't recoil but once every two weeks or so? Granted I'm not using them constantly...but still 2-3 days? Is it that your coil is burning out or the wick gets disgusting? I'm curious now...

Davide tank is essentially the same with protank (design).

Why not rebuilt with thicker kanthal and make it a micro coil.

I rebuilt (pt mini, pt, evod, r200 all BCC's) with 30g kanthal with cotton. Lasted 2 months on the last coil and save tons of coins on replacement heads. And the flavor is to die for. My resistants are 1.5 to 1.8 and run 7 watts to 11 watts depending on juice.

Try it and you will never go back.

Watch trip's microcoil rebuilts on Utube.

Cheers

They are store bought.. kanger official.. i haven't had the time to get into the whole rebuilding coils craze yet (i know, i know.. its easy and saves a ton of money). The dual coil heads from kanger are a tad better than the single from what I have noticed.. but not much better.

the iclear30S dual coil heads last me at least 1-2 weeks.. sometimes even longer based on the juice I'm using

Stay far away from Protank 3, whatever you do. Just google "Protank 3 problems" and see. This wouldn't be that big an issue except its in the premium price range (albeit low end of that range) for basic glassomizers. Kanger's AeroTank seems to be getting a lot of praise though.

The original iClear30 is okay - its very easy to clean, and the coils do last awhile, though I don't know about a full month. Dry hits are an issue, but that is because it is a standard top-coil system. The iClear30X.I is out now too, which is pretty much Innokin's answer to the glass tank systems - it's not bad, hits pretty good, and doesn't leak (hi protanks). The iClear30B is okay, though I've had some leaking issues.

But I am going to second the upvote for the iClear30S. Easily my favorite clearomizer - its gets such great hits for what it is, and I've never personally had any trouble with juices burning in it. And although it is a top coil system as well, the coil and wicks are packed into a center post punched with holes, very similar to a punched cartomizer, so no dry hits. I cleaned mine for the first time last night, and it was very simple.

I guess that makes sense...my wife uses her PT2 all the time at the moment. When she uses store bought coils they tend to last no time at all, but I blame her vaping habits and the fact that the store she buys from doesn't seem to carry official items. She chain vapes and hardly ever puts her PV down that combined with me thinking the knockoff coils are poorly built. When I build her coils though she gets about a solid week out of them. Her new kit is in the mail so she'll probably use the PT2 a lot less... I'll see if that changes the life of her coils.

Are the iClear30s that different from the original? My understanding was that they simply sleeved the wicks? Still a top coil system?

That's basically it, but it makes a huge difference in the quality of the vape - also, the airhole stopper/wick cover has a much wider hole, whereas the original iClear's is tiny, and I think is most of the reason for the intensely muted flavors in that clearo.

I use the iClear 16's quite a bit and those coils last me a long time. However I rarely chain vape and really only vape every hour for 5-10 minutes so maybe that's a factor. Of course I do have to roll it once it gets down to half way to make sure I get the same flavor. My Aspire Nautilus is much better. Wish I had 5 of those to keep in rotation.

the issues with the PT3 were mainly due to the dual coil head stems not being long enough.. they have since fixed that.. I use the PT3 and it vapes the exact same as the PT2... but you are correct, at first the 3 had TERRIBLE problems.
