Hi everyone, I am currently using a EGO type battery with a CE4 Clearomizer, have been buying cheap replacements on ebay, and have 2 cheapo Ego style batteries also.
I find it to work nicely, but have noticed some of the bigger personal vapes.

Do you think it is worth upgrading to one of these, or just carry on with what I know and am using? I have never tried a better model, so do not know if I am missing out or not.

Thanks for any replies to a newbish question, Conan.

I've been using egos for 3.5 months and other than the battery life, or lack of, I like them. I like the size, the colors, the convenience, but hate having to change batteries every 3 (+/-) hours. And the CE4's, can't stand those. I use Davide and RG glassomizers and Mini Vivi Novas instead. I am waiting on a sigelei Zmax V2 for my first upgrade, with a Kayfun lite. At least that way, I may be able to go all day on a single battery, instead of having 7 in rotation.

I plan to keep my egos for when I'm away from home though, they are convenient when you're out shopping, etc., and might be a little hard to drive with the Zmax and 18650 batt.:)

We have been vaping a year and I have upgraded to Vamo (3 of them) Not very reliable, but since have gotten the Itaste SVD off of Ebay and love it. Been about 3 months. Looks like new, never a problem. She has the Mini Provari...very nice. The SVD was $68 for the kit, much better than the Vamos, which I liked. Getting a charger for for IMR/AW/ batteries can be an advantage. My son uses an Itaste MVP, square but I have seen reviews on it and they say it's very comfortable in the hand. Plus the battery life is like 2 days. Went to a new Madvapes B&M and the owner had one as his everyday device. Still have the Spinners as backup and get some use from time to time, but for me SVD.

If you like the form factor of the ego styles, possibly the easiest / cheapest upgrade to that part of your kit would be to go VV or VW, so you can adjust the power to the coil. An Itazte VV3 (800 mAh) or SLB VV3 (1300 mAh) would give you both, plus Ω check, battery voltage monitoring, all the features of a replaceable battery mod without the replaceable battery. Both have charger built in, just need a wall wart. (I, along with many, just don't think charging off a computer port is a good idea.) And the MVP2 is also a great device as long as you're comfortable with the box shape.

But the topper is the key. The battery just provides power. You might try any of the bottom coil devices, those mentioned above are pretty good performers, as well as the Kanger T3S, Evod, PT2 mini.

I'd say the MVP is a great choice if your looking to upgrade. Its functionality is easy to learn and the device is pretty robust.

Most of your vaping experience is going to come from the atomizer you decide to go with, the i-clear series did get me off of smokes and for that I am eternally greatful.

The MVP will run a huge variety of tanks, drippers, cartomizer dobobs what have you, so its a great device to have regardless of how new or old your are with vaping.

You got me interested in the MVP and just took a peek on Ebay....you don't need a battery charger, it has it's own USB charger. So for the cost of 2 Ego batteries you can have your first upgrade. Just don't be bidding against me.

you can get one cheap here,,,,,,,,,and the shipping is cheap too,,like 3 bucks.

And so it begins... If you upgrade it will never stop. :)

I like my simple eGo's. I have 650mah up to 1100. All USB Pass-through and I'm always around a USB charger at my desk or while driving so battery life isn't an issue. Plus, they're cheap enough to have plenty of spares. :)

I've used VV before but honestly... *for me* I can get pretty close to what I want in vapor/flavor on a fixed voltage battery by simply using lower resistance coils. Of course my "taste standards" probably aren't as high as most. I'm just in this for the nicotine folks.

as long as its workin ...
if it aint workin for u then by all means upgrade...mvp is a good option if you dont mind the size and understand that you will have to throw it away if the battery fails/cant be fixed
tube vv/vw devices are great from super cheap to way too expensive..
i have a few provari because they just do the job well every time
just get what works for u they all do the same thing.. but there all not equal

Right now for me I'm just starting out. I can definitely see myself getting a Upgrade to my ego twist. Probably a vv 3.0. Other than that I'm pretty satisfied with throat hit vapor and flavor. My girlfriend is still getting used to the vaping thing so I'm taking it slow.

I like the portability of egos and they are cheap enough to replace and have plenty of spares. Ive considered moving up to a mechanical unit at some point but idk if I have the tile and resources to get into RBA's

Thanks for all the replies, I do not understand the OHM thing though, and voltage adjustment. The MVP looks ok to me, I do not care about shape, as long as it works and gives me a nice nicotine hit and taste. I'm in the UK though, any good vendors anyone knows about here?

You don't need to worry about the ohms, just realize that to get the same heat out of a higher resistance coil you need a higher voltage. Or to get the same heat out of a lower resistance one you need lower voltage.

Since coils come (and can be made) in different ohm values, and manufacturing tolerances can be all over the place, having a variable battery makes it easy to "dial" in the heat you want. With VW, you can set the effective heat and the battery automatically adjusts the voltage for you. The MVP2 you're eying will do either, depending on whether you set it for VV or VW.
