Well, I've gone to MyVaporStore, and as I always do with anything online, I checked out the reviews. What bugs the hell out of me is that most folks don't say WHY they like or dislike a product; it's always crap like "it's GREAT!" or "it SUCKS!" but they never explain why they feel that way. Some do have some description, and any that say "tastes sweetened" or "mildly sweet tobacco", I know right off are not for me, but some of the others, they give no description whatever, just whether they or their husband or granny or pet hamster liked it. I wish the juice-stores online could have like a questionnaire for those who review -- "check if you thought it was sweet" "check if you thought it was bitter", etc. The ones that say "great tobacco taste" are the most frustrating, because there are so many varieties of tobacco -- marlboro (sweet), turkish (just weird, kinda dry), Cuban cigar tobacco, my favorite Virginia Slims, etc. The advertising for Blu says something similar: "great tobacco taste!" but it tastes like someone just filled a pipe with cherry tobacco or borkum riff or something equally sweet. Just awful.

Here's a weird thing: when I sniff an UNLIT virginia slims (which my husband finds completely weird, sniffing an unlit cigarette), it smells quite sweet, though with a tart, sharp kind of edge. But when you actually smoke it, there's no sweetness at all. I just can't figure it out, how to quantify and accurately describe the taste I like.

Thx,
Andria

If you have the time, you might check out this link. The reviewer is a professionally trained chef, and really does describe the juice he reviews much more than "love this" or "had to pitch it post-haste". I find them to be pretty accurate. It may be helpful or it may not be. Most of the time, it's trial and error. ;)

All those disposables are junk IMHO.
I believe I have to agree, although I find the Njoy *almost* tolerable. I think a menthol smoker would find it quite satisfactory, as the menthol would effectively mask the taste of eucalyptus (that's the taste/sensation I get from it, anyway).

You should head over to a B&M store near you.
Even if one is an hour away it is well worth it.
Think of it as going to the doctors! You are bettering your life and you may have to take a chunk of your day out for it.
Got one about 15 mins from here (which isn't that far in Lawrenceville, lots of construction going on in that area so traffic is the pits), and another couple within 20-30 mins away, and at least one other, about 40 mins away (near my parents actually). Heading over to their workshop this Thurs night, if they're having it -- have to check their FB page to make sure. The guy I reached via msg on FB said they have over 40 flavors, and a try-before-you-buy thingie. I don't think their store carries the cig-a-likes I'm interested in, but at least I can learn how to deal with filling and such, and try the flavors.

Remember, what you smoked isnt always what you wanna vape since there is no combustion.
That might be true; it's almost definitely true that I won't be able to perfectly replicate the cigarette taste I'm used to, but I have to find something that's light, dry, and definitely not sweet, but with a decent "throat-hit," which is really the main thing I'm getting now, with an ultra-light cigarette and a case of asthma -- not much inhaling going on, at least not too far below the throat.

You can get a Kanger Evod Single Starter Set for 15 dollars, also juice is 5$ - 10ML usually, so 20 bucks and you are set to vape.
Great price, but much too fat -- I smoke slims, so even normal cigarettes feel fat to me. I'm pretty much decided on the JoyeTech eRoll; it appears to satisfy several things I'm looking for in an e-cig, and I think offers me the best chance to finally be rid of cigarettes. It's kinda like, smoke this instead of that, and maybe you *won't* die of horrible lung diseases -- such a deal! And while I'm at it, not have to go outside in the freezing/broiling weather, not have all my outerwear reek of tobacco smoke, not choke up my husband when we're driving around, not have to buy anymore lighters that turn into useless chunks of plastic and litter up the place, and hey, cut down on my asthma inhaler since I'm not counteracting it with hot smoke all the time! :) :) :)

Last month I knew nothing of vaping either, and now from being here and visiting B&M stores I understand everything but DIY Ejuice - but that is easy enough.
If I can't find some pre-made flavor I like, I might end up having to look into that. I'm also thinking of weird stuff like, essence of rosemary, which would be excellent to inhale when you have a cold, to soothe the membranes and even shorten the cold's duration -- till now I've had to put the rosemary in a big boiler and hang my face over it, inhaling the vapor, but in an "e-cig" it would be so much easier! These things could be a godsend to herbal and aroma therapies! :D

Thx,
Andria

You should be able to by now, you only need 5 posts to get out of the New Members forum. You also now have enough to create your signature at the bottom of your profile. If not, contact the forum admins to see what's up. :)

I think I'll wait on the signature; I really admire those I've seen here that say how many days, how many smokes avoided. For the next 5 or 6 days at least, I'm still polluting my lungs, but I have a solid goal to get off these COFFIN NAILS!

I didn't start off the year with any particular resolutions, they're always much too easy to break and then you hate yourself; I don't need that kind of nonsense. :) I always start each year off with a goal of losing 10-15 lbs, and I usually manage to do it by early summer (May or so), just by cutting back a little and then going out and sweating in the garden. Of course come Halloween and all the holidays that follow, I put it back on, so have to start the new year off the same way. :) This year, it's so cold, is really why I've gotten so much more interested in e-cigs; I'm really tired of going outside in freezing temps, knife-edge winds, just to smoke a stupid cigarette. When I got that Njoy and found out how close it was to the customary sensation of smoking, I grew even more interested, with the hope that I might actually be able to free myself of these things, FINALLY.

For the first time, it really seems possible. :D

The disposables helped me cut down but not stop. It wasn't until I got a starter kit and got that vapor and throat hit I was wanting so badly.

I've also found a few tobacco flavors that mimic the taste so I'm now loving vaping. Has allowed me to go to zero for the past 5 days.

I crave a real one once in a while and sometimes it's tough to not open that pack. What keeps me from doing it though is the smell in my garage from years of smoking, my car (needs a cleaning!), and my Ecig.

I can almost breathe and taste things again.

Hoping you the best. You'll do it and never look back.

I wish you'd share what flavors you're using, along with what kind of cigarettes you smoked, before. Depending on what you smoked, what tobacco flavors you've discovered would be really welcome info.

That godawful smell is what keeps me humping it out to the porch, even when it's 6 degrees and nobody has any business outdoors; last winter I tried a few times in the garage, but the kitchen table is right by the door to the garage, and that stench was coming in; I couldn't stand it. Really can't believe I used to LIVE in that foul stink.

I can almost breathe and taste things again.
I'm really kinda hoping that my sense of smell won't get any more intense than it is now; my husband finds me nearly impossible to live with already, I'm so sensitive to bad smells. He keeps saying "I wish your nose had a damn off switch!" :D Hate menthol cigarettes, but I might have to start putting VapoRub under my nose the way cops do when they have to attend an autopsy; if it masks that smell, it should work fine for everyday stinks. ;)

Hoping you the best. You'll do it and never look back.
Thanks. I have to say, I'm really looking forward to this, and that's surely about the LAST way I expected to feel about the prospect of quitting smoking. ;) How cool is that!

One thing I wondered about; you said that with a strong nicotine, the taste is quite like real tobacco smoke; that might be a problem for me, since I currently smoke the ultra-lights; I had to switch to them from the VS lights because they were just causing me way too much coughing. I note that they have a "xtra light" concentration, but in light of your comments about the taste, I had thought that maybe the "light" instead of xtra light might work out alright for me?

Of course, as I said, I do smoke Ultra-Lights -- I was just standing out on my porch taking these huge drags and holding them in my mouth to try and analyze the taste, but it's so light, I can't really taste that much, but "dusty" is a good description; very smooth though, and with a bitter edge/aftertaste.

From what I've seen, the eCig community hasn't got a good answer for what I suspect your "real" issue is. The difference between a Full Flavor, Light, & Ultra-Light cigarette, is the amount of holes they put in the filter.... the lighter the cigarette, the more air they let in after the burning tobacco (through the filter).

I don't believe there are too many beginner kits that let you adjust how much air comes in after the atomizer.

Far as I can tell, & I may be very wrong, in the eCig world, a "light" cigarette just means less nicotine, but you're going to get a mouth full of vapor.... the full flavor.

I'm trying the following liquids:
1. Madvapes Wet Season. I really like this one
2. Hangsen RY4. It's ok but not stellar
3. Hangsen Menthol. Pretty nice. I mix Johnson Creek Original with this and love it.
4. Johnson Creek Domestic

I've ordered tobacco samplers from Halo and Mom & Pops but they haven't arrived yet.
That's why I love this. So many flavors to experiment with!!

Oh...I did get 24mg nicotine in the Johnson Creek flavors. Bout knocked me out of my chair. I've since gone to 18 and its much better :)

Ok, but what kind of cigarettes did you smoke? I think that RY4 is described as "sweet," and I definitely do NOT want anything sweet -- actually I'm looking for something that's smooth, but with a bitter edge/aftertaste. Maybe it's the diff between pipe tobacco (sweet) and cigars (definitely not sweet! except those little Black & Milds -- definitely don't want anything like that!).

That's true, but for several reasons, I need to identify something I like PDQ --
1) I don't have an unlimited budget;
2) my husband will lose all patience with my efforts to get off cigs if it ends up costing MORE than cigs, while I try to find something I like; and
3) if I'm going to lose the stinkweed, I have to find a vapor flavor I can be happy with, as I said, PDQ!

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll probably just order the "light" strength (about 11 mg I think). I checked online for the nicotine strength of the ultra-light cigs I smoke, and it's 6, so the 11 is almost double what I usually get -- which is kinda good, as it will fend off the withdrawals quite easily, I should think. The Njoy I picked up is the "light" version, in the gold pkg rather than the red, and it about knocked me over, the first few times I hit it.

Thx!

I went from a 1.5 pack a day to none when I started vaping...never looked back. I started with an eGo kit and have gone to Protank2 mini. I carry three ecigs with different juices in them all the time so I can alternate what I vape.

The day I planned to quit, I went to a B&M shop that allowed me to sample all their flavors for as long as I wanted. I went through every one and purchased a couple that suited me.

I saw a study that said the lungs absorb about half of the nicotine from vaping. I was a Marlboro Ultra Light smoker which is rated at 6mg and the associate at the store told me to get 12mg. It did the trick for me. I did have a friend that was vaping 11mg and couldn't break the analog habit. He then decided to go with 18mg and it satisfied his urge, the 18mg was too strong for me.

I highly recommend going to a B&M that allows you to sample and take the time to find something you enjoy. Then get a eGo starter kit or something along those lines. myfreedomsmokes.com sells a EVOD starter kit for $10.00

I also started with the EGO twist; I liked it at least for now. I tried several different e-liquids, the best e-liquid I found to satisfy my smoking habit was Maulones Premium Vapors; they seem to target the true smoker.
I went on the heart and lung site and was shocked to see what was in a cigarette, that also helped me to change from smoking to vaping.
Thank goodness I was able to stop smoking and start vaping; it's amazing how much better I feel.
