My husband and I are both smokers, for many, many years. We have tried to quit in the past, but frankly we enjoy smoking, and didnt like the weight gain.

I would consider us heavy smokers (more than a pack a day) Smoking or vaping while in the car is a must. My commute to work is short, but I manage to fit in two cigs by the time I get there. His is about 45 mins. So I am wondering about battery life of the 501 and refilling of cartridges? I would not want to have to refill cartridges or change out batteries driving down the road. Suggestions on models that need less refilling will be greatly appreciated.

If I were at work, and went into the bathroom for a few quick "puffs" and someone were to go into the room right after I came out, would they know (by smell, for example) I had been vaping?

We currently smoke Doral lights (gold box) What tobacco liquid would be most similar in taste?

We both agree that the e-cig doesnt need to look like a cigarette, but vapor and taste would be important, although I personally prefer less of a throat hit.

All suggestions welcome :)

Buy an adapter for the 510 to take 901/808's and some cartos for the 808. Travel will be a MUCH easier.

I enjoyed smoking too lol about a pack a day regs or lights generic over 20 years.
First vape for me----> had cigs tasting like YUCK.
Over a month now with that same pack and a half in front of me.

No weight gain here either. Although- I was hungry non stop in beginning for about ten days.

They "might" smell something nice in the bathroom LOL depending on your vape choice..and erm um other things

As for replicate- i just keep trying to get further and further from that part ..whatever came stock was good enough for me. Correct me if I am wrong- but Doral isn't a real strong flavored cig and you will probably be fine with normal stock tobacco:confused:

ugo is getting great revieww (new product)
another relatively new one..which I am eyeing is the juice box (4 to 6 weeks delivery wait)

I use vapor4life,Its a kr808d-1.Its very easy to use and They have lots of choices on batteries and flavors.

Same here! I think it is as easy as it gets. No dipping, no dripping and whatever else they have to with the 510's, 501, dse's or whatever! Not that that would be a bad thing if you like tinkering. Those models are VERY popular. But, the Kr8 is just super easy.
1 carto loaded on the battery and another 1 or 2 in the pcc case and you're (I'm) good to go for a whole day and half the next.

In my opinion, V4L's Parliment is a VERY good flavor. I think it is my new favorite. Taste like a really good cigarette.

Just my .02..............:)

I also use a 510 but use the 510/901-808 adapter so that I can use cartomizers when driving. the cartos will take the worry out of having to top off your carts while in the car although a cart. would last 45 minutes with no problem. the 510 battery lasts me 1.5 to 2 hours as I am a heavy vapor. The 510 adapter using cartomizers doubles the battery life. The 510 as well as 808's have mega or xl batteries that will almost double that time. A pcc will carry an extra battery and also give you 2-3 recharges but only only with the shorter batteries(510) not sure about the 808 pcc. I was a marlboro light smoker and had a tough time finding anything close short of tobacco flavored juice I got from Tasty Vapor. Flavor will definitely be something you will have to experiment with. Right now I have been lovin the coffee/cappuccino flavors. Good luck and happy vaping

I have a 2-piece KR8 model (Vapor King) and I just love it. I was also a heavy smoker and you can vape in the car very easily. Just screw on a cartomizer and you're good to go for at least a couple of hours.

Today I used a freebie that I got in my last order from Vapor4Life - an attachment that fits into the cigarette lighter with a usb port on it for the pass-thru. I just plugged it in and vaped non-stop on the way to work. It was fantastic! I had heard about these things but wasn't ready to buy one, and now I don't have to.

I think it's gonna be my new favorite thing.

If you stealth vape in the rest room at work, nobody will know. That means you hold the vape in your lungs for longer than normal and very little vape comes out on the exhale. No, it does not smell. If you vaped a lot, maybe someone would think it was air freshener.

Some flavors have greater throat hits than others but the general concensus is that higher nic levels produce greater TH. Sometimes it's a bit too much, even for me - and I often vape 36mg. The Espresso cartos from V4L are to die for - killer throat hit.

Now that I vape ... I find I take about 4 extra restroom breaks every day. LOL I have never had anyone comment or notice a smell. No problem there.

As for what model is best for you ... all I will say is that for me ... The Penstyle is the way to go. It has very large cartridges which means less time spent filling or topping off. The battery life is excellent. Certainly much longer between charges than with a "mini" e-cig. And the flavor is amazing !! Oh, tons of vapor, too.

Good luck on your vaping journey !!

Ok this is what I ended up buying:

Joye 510 NoBox with PCC - Special
[</I>color:Blue]
[</I>battery1 led:red led - manual]
[</I>battery2 led:red led - manual]
[</I>accessory1:pG 5ml,Winston, 26mg Nicotine]
[</I>accessory2:VG Camel 5ml 26mg Nicotine]

Actually I bought 2, 1 for myself and 1 for hubby.

I also purchased 2 btls of the Cam (18mg) flavored e-liquid from e-smokeytreats.

Now will I need anything else to prevent refilling while driving? I am confused on that. If so, what and where would I purchase this needed item?

Again TY all for your suggestions :)

Considering what I bought (Joye 510) and also considering that from the time I leave home to go to work, and the time I return home from work, my average is about 11 cigarettes smoked in that time period. Based on that, what paraphenalia will I need to take to work with me, if I vape around the same amount?

As you can tell, having not vaped yet, I am very confused on how long the batteries and/or the cartridges last. I would hate to be halfway thru the day and realize I have no way to vape due to battery life or the cartridge has run out of juice. I expect the kit to be here, tomorrow when I get home from work, so that means Tuesday would be my first day of vaping at work, I am hoping to be prepared :)

The 510 manual was a good choice. They come with a 150 mAh battery 1-2 hrs of moderate to heavy vaping. Get a couple extra batteries for spare/backup.

Consider getting a 510 Mega Battery 280mAh 3-5 hrs vaping. It is only 25mm (1") longer than a regular batt and well worth it for the extra batt life.

As for the carts, consider the following MODS (modification). They are easy to do. Normal carts hold about 8 drops. With the mod you can get 2-4 drops more per cart.
I drive 4-6 hours per day. I fill up and take 3 PV (personal vaporizer) with me in the morning and they prove to be more than enough for the entire day (8 hr). I use 2 regular batt and 1 Mega Batt. I tend to vape all the time and seem to be going through about 15ml of e-juice per week.

"Dart" MOD
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/58690-b-f-d-cart-mod.html
This one works very well and the cart runs completely dry. The dart is very easy to remove, refill and replace.

Paper Clip with PolyFill MOD
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...pc-automatic-drop-mod-paper-clip-variant.html

You might want to check out Mark at MadVapes LLC. He has a 510 Disposible pak that comes with 1 regular automatic batt, 1 atty, 3 carts (2 filled, 1 empty) and a USB charger for $10.00. They claim you are able to recharge the batts at least 3 times, but I have 3 in rotation and each has been recharged over 30 times and are still going strong. Considering most sites charge $10-15 for batts and $6-10 for attys, you can't go wrong with these.

Stock up on the juice. No ejuice is exactly like an analog cig. But you will find over time that you will like the flavors better than analogs. Taste is very subjective. What one person likes, another won't. Find 2 or 3 flavors that you like and buy 30ml at a time of each. For tobacco flavor, I find that I like Flu-cured (like Marl Lite), Virginia (like Doral), Turkish Blend (like Camel) and 555/State Street (smooth tobacco with hint of nuttiness).

Hope this helps.
