Hello there! What atty and pv are you using and how sure are you that you need to be vaping 12-18mg?

Personally, I don't prefer high nic levels, and after smoking a pack a day for over 20 years, I was able to comfortably vape at 6mg within a few days by just vaping more often. I don't like the harshness and flavor of high nic juice. 6 and below is sooo much smoother.

Your equipment and nic level all play a role, let us know and we can offer suggestions.

Agreed. I've done exactly the same thing. I find juice over 12mg too harsh and find it impossible to vape anything besides 6mg in my rebuildable.

I was at 1.5 packs a day, 3 years and can't puff a vape all day, high nic level is necessary but I don't think it accounts for the entirety of my issue. My wife and I are both using the same set-up, she has the same mod and atty, same issues except on one cinnamon juice which seems right on, but at higher voltage (4.8V)

The setup doesn't sound like it should be the problem, I'd say to experiment with a few different flavors and I would highly recommend giving a 6mg a try to see if the flavor /throat hit seems better. I can honestly say, there's a lot more to the whole smoking addiction than just nicotine and I'm sure a lot of folks would agree. I'm not saying that you don't need the higher nic, everyone is different. I am saying that myself and many others found that lower nic used a little more often made vaping 100 times better.

Just my personal take on the issue.

You may also try switching juice brands around a little also.

Keep us up to date and don't give up just yet.

What you are describing sounds like maybe it could be a "dry hit".

Are you priming your atomizer when you fill a new tank? If not, try taking a hit or two without engaging the battery. This will pull some eliquid into the coils so that it is available to be vaporized. It's worth trying if you have not done so.

But could I smoke several sets of juice through it (2mg per fill) of (noticeably) different flavors without the atty being 'primed'? It would seem like at some point it would have to naturally prime.

Anyway, I did prime it, but am currently hitting the only comfortable juice I have, for obvious reasons, so it'll be a while before I can determine any changes.

From what you wrote in Post #1 it sounded like you have not been able to vaporize anything without getting a harsh hit and no vapor. That's why I suggested priming.
If you are vaping now and getting vapor, then "dry hits" are not the problem with harshness.

My atomizer has had 3 days to break in, I've used 5 juices, and still I get harsh throat hit and small vapor cloud.

3.4V at 2ohms, 40/60pg/vg 12-18mg nicotine

Need help, really want to love vaporizing but this is getting.. tiring.
Thanks

You can try lowering your variable voltage/wattage and trying a higher VG ratio. Vaping is different from smoking when I first started vaping I was a 1 pack+ Newport smoker, which a lot of people can't handle saying it's too harsh, but I would cough from vaping using 18-24 mg. It's something you have to get use to, just like smoking cigarettes most of not everyone coughed and choked smoking in the beginning.

When I bought some Zeus Juice, it was super harsh (there was a significant chemical-y taste, in my case), which caused me to vape it more gently, which caused there to be less vapor. After letting it steep while trying other brands/flavors, Zeus mellowed a LOT. It was on par with the other juices. If you're reasonably certain it's not your setup, try steeping the juice :)
