2) Look for product reviews...
Google whatever item you're interested in. Be sure to stick ecig or mod in the search string to eliminate a lot of the unrelated stuff. Be sure to read a BUNCH of them, because some reviews are products being pimped by people with a vested interest in the product's sale.
3) Ask LOTS of questions in the various forums. Aside from the occasional snarky comment from the few a-holes that reside on every board, you'll get lots of good commentary on devices from firsthand experience.

THANKS YOU SO MUCH!!! I am so glad I found someone local! I have been sticking to ECF, Vape TV, Vaper Joes and Grimm Green for all of my info because I feel this is where I will get the most honest and thorough information.
Unfortunately, I did not make it to N.O. I really wanted to make it badly because I was already in B.R. for business most of the day. I thought I could hop over there for a while but time was against me. It would be amazing if there was a community of Vapers in the Lafayette area that could get together and have events one day.
