Still tastes like hell. I'm so disappointed.

Now that's really funny....grape was one of the first free cartos I got from V4L and that's the only one I thought was kind of ok!

I know my tastebuds are back because of how food tastes....I'm just one of those people who hates the taste of tobacco and smoked the lightest, girliest, mentholiest cigarettes ever. That's probably why I only like these minty flavors.

I hope you have a different experience because it stinks being locked out of the rainbow of flavors out there. Hang in there!

Thanks a lot Kryssi!! I think we might have similar tastes! It's good to hear. Because sometimes I feel so ..weird about not getting on the bandwagon as quickly as others mentioned. Like, "I tried it once and I was hooked." Why isn't that happening with me??

Well maybe Grape will save the day :)

There will always be the cartomizers versus carts argument, it is like Ford v. Chevy...

I vape !!GASP!! V4L cartomizers on a Super Tornado with an adaptor because 510 cartomizers taste like aluminum, and standard 510 carts and attys are a giant pain.

So to each there own. BUT take it from someone else that is semi-new to vaping, The only thing to do is try a lot of multi packs of cartomizers, with lots of flavors, or buy lots of juice flavors. V4L Menthol is my all day vape, and I do some Totally Wicked french pipe when I am feeling randy. (harsh stuff)

You said you like the grape, so it is not a cartomizer thing for you, probably just the flavors. ALSO, VG cartomizers from V4L seem to have NO taste to me either, even the VG versions of the PG ones I vape all day.

Maybe ask some on the V4L forum and see what others are saying about strong flavors (not tasteless) I am sure you will find something that satisfies you.

ALSO Tasty Vapor (supposed to have AWESOME juice) has a 10 pack trial special for $25. That may be right up your ally.

thanks Jo, your sweet:)

I was a person that was hooked from the start, now that being said, I was hooked on the IDEA of the e-cig, even my first bad one made me realize that it could work.
I just had to find the right devices and juices for me.
You will too!
Just stay with it and keep trying, join the PIF thread and try some new juices.

I smoked for 31+ years a pack and a half a day and July 15th I will have been smoke free 6 months:)

Cozz you gotta try the cartos buddy, they really are something especially @ 6v you might like em, no need for HV Attys either with cartos and there simple to fill with the condom fill, the only way they taste burnt is if you let em go really fry, ( you dont do that with an Atty so you wont do it with a Carto (Right) Just saying, there cheap as well compared to an Atty, there pretty good buddy, give em a try.!!!

Taste, you wanna talk about taste?

A few minutes ago, I smoked my first cigarette in the past four months. I bummed a Marlboro 100 from a co-worker and brought it home. Honestly, I've had the idea in my head for weeks ... just got around to doing it today.

I got a bit of a nicotine buzz just now. The cigarette delivers more than I've become accustomed to from vaping.

Taste, hmmm. Hot. That's the first impression. Like an atomizer running dry, kind of. I still have an aftertaste in my mouth, and it's not a good one. I feel like I want to brush my teeth, and maybe shower too. But, the taste ... let's just say the weeks of anticipation led me to expect it to be wonderful. In fact, it was a disappointment. I don't feel like running out and buying a pack of smokes, AT ALL. It tasted, kinda like ... SMOKE. Blech!

It's important to realize that vaping is NOT smoking (it's better). But, it is close enough to let a 35+ year smoker put the coffin nails down with shocking ease. After a month, give or take, your senses of taste and smell will improve. So will your ability to 'taste' the PV. Try exhaling through your nose, you get more flavor that way.

Vape on!

I had great juices from the get-go -- I just had to squeeze out the premixed stuff, and add the PG and VG juice samples they sent to get it 'perfect'. Really mimicked the cigarette puff, but they left me dizzy due to the high nic levels, so I ordered lower nicotine menthol PG from another supplier. Not a smart move -- I got the lower nicotine, all-PG stuff and it left an oil taste (and coating) in my mouth -- Lord God I'm glad I didn't start with that stuff; I would have tossed ecigs and bought stock in Philip Morris.

Anyway, I have to say, I didn't want to waste the lower-nic yuck juice (that tastes like oil), so when I got my Tasty Vapor Atomic Cinnacide shipment today, I mixed a few drops in with the bad stuff, and it helped a lot. (I also mixed the AC with my "good stuff" and it gave it a nice twist -- very happy TV customer here!).

TV is nothing but good all the way around, I have a pluthera of juice from lots of suppliers and a ton of 100mg extra clean Nic from Levy over at Xtremevaping.com the best place to purchase your Nic in my opinion. With that being said I find myself mixing batches to vape everyday and haveing so much different juices,Nic,, and flavorings on hand it's really helped me with my DIY and im pretty much mixing all my own now, so never throw stuff away unless it just goes bad, seems like I always end up using stuff to blend another flavor in my mix, even stuff i didnt think I would ever use seems to be needed at times just to give a mix an under or over tone in my mix

I dont use carts - I drip - I havent found a better alternative and yes Ive tried cartos and they are ok but there can be a taste issue with them at times (for ME..). If they are full of jucie they are alright, TH is too much for me though after a short while, but I dont dismiss cartos :) But dripping ahh...
Have you tried dripping at all Jo?
I'll agree about juice flavors, Ive sampled some yukky ones but I found hte ones I love now and tend to stick with those vendors. In all my samplings htough Ive never had rock-concert-fog - perfumey though, yeah had that lol
Learning curves, ah don't we hate them.

Hang in there,
It took me about a month and about 6 months of the cost of analogs in juices and PV's to really find my sweet spot.
I was a 2-3 PAD person. I burned my taste buds out at an early age.
When I started vaping, it was only the heavy menthol-tobacco flavors that I could taste. Now, after allmost 2 months, I find I can start to enjoy the nicer, lighter flavors.
It will get better, all of here are testaments to that.

I drip all the time, however when I get in the car or go somewhere it's not feasible to break out my liquids and drip I'll just throw on a carto and vape. Believe me I like dripping guyz and ya its the best way no doubt theres just times where a carto comes in handy for me, specially when I'm playing golf.

hey Jo here are some of the other things that it could be...

and I know what you're talking about that slight chemical and or perfume taste..

1) open your cartos and let them sit and breathe for a little while....they're manufactured and filled and sealed fairly quickly and they arent given a chance to degas from the manufacture process befored they're sealed so taking em out of the plastic will help somewhat...

and

2) unfortunately a LOT of the flavors are achieved from extracts from the rose plant so yeah you get that perfading your cartos...the easy answer is to get blanks and fill them with better juice (alot of the china or dekang juice is all going to be the same)

I got my Vapor King XL today with a bunch of different cartomizers.

This is my third ecig this week. They all have this distinct, rock-concert-fog taste that I can't get away from. I can only barely taste the flavors.

I started with Premium E Cigarettes at 11mg. They were awful.

Then my Eluma E Cigs 16mg arrived. Better! But still tasted the fog.

Now today my Vapor King XL 36mg is here and I'm crushed! Same thing!

There are clearly differences in the quality of the above ecigs, the Vapor King being the Cadillac of them all. But the taste! How did you all try this and decide to keep doing it?
Reading the insights of the ECF forum Vets while learning how to vape ( this is pre-LR atty & pre-510 carto / Feb 2010 time frame) the Vets would mention many times that they now direct drip. Slowly but surely I learned how to direct drip. From this know-how, I found flavor to be alot more pronounced. By direct dripping I removed any bunrt taste of a kr carto that may be present (not knowing) or cart filler that went south ( needed clean rinse, again not knowing)... . Removing those variables I could find the Vape juices I liked best. This may also help you in identifying the flavors you like ... .
Good Luck, Happy Vaping

I drink a lot of Starbucks coffee, but never flavored. I get Americano's (espresso diluted with water). I like my cigarettes the same way.... without sweet flavoring. I have found that Intellicig ECOpure "FRESH", 10mg is perfect for me. It has a very clean tobacco flavor. I have been completely off analogs since my I got my first e-cig 3 weeks ago (after 40+ years of smoking)

Jo, cartomizers can be re-juiced! V4L (and many others) sell blank cartomizers that you can fill with your own juice too.

We started out getting a bunch of V4L juice, but quickly discovered that Ms. T's Bakery has some of the best freakin' juices ever. Now we just buy blanks and fill 'em with her stuff.

A lot of the hassle in getting started in ecigs is finding a flavor or three that you can love all day every day. If what you're puffing isn't doing it for you, don't give up, just try a different flavor.

I will also say that e-liquid tasted a bit strange to me at first. It took some time for my taste buds to re-adjust to what I was inhaling. I don't think ANYTHING would have tasted quite right to me in the beginning.

In other words, you're doing fine... just keep trying (and definitely check out the e-liquid review section of the forum - you'll find something you love in no time!
