so earlier i was testing battery voltage on my stingray mod. the way my voltage/ohm meter is setup i have to use this little adapter that has a 510 connect on both ends. when i was done testing i took it off the ohm meter but then the little adapter had gotten like pressed in and was stuck in the top cap of my stingray. the only way i could get it out was by removing the 510 pin in the top cap and pushing the adapter out manually. i popped the 510 pin back in but it is now really loose. there was like a black plastic type material surrounding the pin and when i pulled the pin out i ripped that plastic type piece a little bit. now my mod will not fire at all. is it totally ruined or is there a fix for this? to make things worse i dropped the 18350 tube on my ceramic floor and dented the bottom threading. had to pry it back in place with pliers and now the button is extremely hard and crunchy to get on and off. just not a good day for my stingray. it has been untouched for a while and i spent about an hour polishing it up and cleaning it, only to destroy it. :(

well I'm using an RDA so the coil isn't popped, the atty is definitely making contact with the top pin, button is definitely in contact with the battery and i used a freshly charged VTC5 so i don't know. and i spent over an hour cleaning and polishing every inch of this thing so i can't imagine its dirty. even after a month of use with no cleaning or maintenance it worked. i think it has something to do with the fact that i damaged the insulation material around the pin in the top cap.

Sounds like it might be trashed if it the top cap assembly doesn't allow for a faithful connection between the battery and atty.

I feel your pain. I dropped my stingray the other day and dented the brass 18350 tube. Threading the lock ring and switch onto the tube is now really a pain in the .... but it fires just fine once I get it on.

Bad news: time to shop for a new clone :(

Good news: time to shop for new clone :toast:

Sorry to say, but you are missing the point.
The Delrin (insulator) can be split into 2 pieces and it will not matter - As long as:
1)the Pin is not resting against the Body = Hard Short
2) The Pin makes contact with the Atty center pin and Battery

There is no reason to assume it got shorter, it is made of metal

Do you have a Multimeter?
Simple to set to DC Volts
Place black lead on body
Hold Red lead on 510 center pin
Press switch on Mod
Should Read battery voltage
If no, mod issue
If yes, atty issue

Leave them in place and swap battery from top section.:)

If the plastic delrin ring is really the issue, can you take the delrin piece out and inspect it? Then if you can get some superglue and repair it. Make sure that the damaged delrin isn't causing the contact pin to move when you screw everything together, therefore losing contact. Because it's cracked/torn, the threads may no longer be holding the connection pin tightly anymore.

The insulator's only function is to keep the center pin from coming into contact with the topcap itself and to keep the battery's positive contact from possibly touching the center pin and the topcap or body of the mod. As crxess said, there is no possible way the Delrin being cracked could be causing the mod not to fire. If the insulator for some reason fails, the result would be a possible short, if anything, rather than not firing at all.

Despite what you said previously, it sounds like the issue is the atty not making contact with the center pin or the center pin not making contact with the battery.
