My son was driving from Dallas to NYC passing through Knoxville on the way so I went and met him for lunch today. It was fantastic, It has been over a year since I last saw him. When I got home the mail box was hanging open and there was nothing in it. Tracking said vape mail and art supplies had been delivered today. I wanted to cry, the one package was supposed to be my RM2 with a new cap, the other was about $120 worth of art supplies. Tracking said they were both delivered at 12:07 pm, I did not get home till 3:30. We live on a dirt road, off of another dirt road, there are 4 mail boxes on our road. Two years and we have never had any problems. It boggles me how crappy some people can be. I know who ever took it will have no idea what the RM2 is and probably and just throw it in the trash. Who knows what they will do with the pastels, inks, and tablets. Grrrrr.... I am so PO'd. Thanks for letting me vent.

It's unbelievable how crappy people can be. Probably some stupid kids. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I know how disappointed and angry I would be. You should report it. It is a federal offense.

this post makes me a little nervous, i normally recieve my paychecks in the mail on saturday but had an appt this am, when i got home no paycheck, hmmmm

Direct deposit? I would never have paychecks, ss checks, etc... delivered by mail this day and age. Let's hope it's just late and comes Monday.

Minor Details
Find out the phone number for your local Postal delivery office and call them early (8am) and speak with a supervisor and your carrier. See if they can help in case of bad tracking info. If they can't, contact the Postal Inspection service and file a case for your stolen package. They are the ones in charge of handling mail theft, lost, or rifling.

I sure hope your check comes on Monday.

We got a new mailman a few months back because our old one retired and from talking to neighbors and such he has been known to blow off some deliveries. I live in a very rural area and belive he thought "theres only one or two letters on this road today, they can wait for monday.

well, direct deposit is not really an option for me at the moment, used to have it but stopped it once my former bank rejected a few of them. Never really got an excuse why they did. banked with them for close to 20 years, direct deposit for over 6, but after this i closed all my accts with them an just started receiving paper checks from my work. but for some reason my work decided instead of allowing me to pick up my check at the office they were going to mail them(some brilliant higher up thought it was inconvenient because he would occasionally have to distribute the checks himself) long story short i didnt have much of an option.

What a horrible thing to find when getting home. I am sorry that happened to you.

I think I would be driving up and down the road looking for anything that might have been tossed aside.

It is always scary for me to have packages come when I am away from home. Looks like I will have a package with three Woodvils coming on Monday when I am gone.

Make sure you do report what happened. Maybe they hit the other mailboxes also. Might be a chance to nail the culprits.

I filed a police report so that on the art supplies I can at least get $50 back from the insurance. The RM2 from Rob did not have insurance, I'll have to eat that one and order another. I did walk up and down both dirt roads but found nothing. I live 23 miles from my post office in NC, but three miles from one in TN, I am going to go see if I can open a box there, even though I don't live in TN. My SO already moved the trail cam we had by the chicken coop (something was stealing eggs, we discovered it was an opossum) to across the road from the mail box. I am a nice person, but whoever stole my vape mail does not want to cross paths with me. Thanks for all the suggestions and kind thoughts.

It's one thing that has always puzzled me about America, their reliance on mail boxes - almost everywhere else on the planet they have letter boxes on front doors, so that the mail ends up inside the house, I think if I lived somewhere remote, I'd rather have a secure mail point where I could go to pick up parcel mail (post office box sort of thing)

sometimes.. worst case scenario does not apply.. if the carrier forgets to deliver, when they scan the package, they can mistakenly choose the wrong option.. ie, delivered, when it wasn't.

has happened to me on several occasions- most recently on a Reo package last month.

I hope your items come tomorrow!

Actually usps does have some sort of protection even if you don't have insurance. I don't know that usps is at fault here though, because they did technically do their job. But priority mail packages have a built in $50 loss/damage thing. Priority mail express is $100.

Priority does not require a signature unless requested by the sender. The art supplies were sent priority so there is $50 insurance on them. By the time all this happened yesterday it was to late to call the post office, they close at noon on Saturday. I will be there 1st thing tomorrow morning. Then I will rent a mail box at the post office. I learned a couple lessons the hard way. Even rural, off the beaten path living has crime. Karma will bite them in the .....
