Jeeze you guys are a little nuts. Maybe I have the "I just got my fist e-cig lets see how this pans out" vibe. But really...1k on nicotine?

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, the reason my total is so high is that I've simply tried every e-smoking device out there. Cigs, Cigars, Pipes, and of course lots of juice. With the juice part of it I'm stocked up for quite a while now!

There are different ways to approach vaping if you are new to it. You can listen to the sales hype that some vendors give you...Ok...one vendor in particular....or you can read the opinions of me and everyone else on this forum. Or, if you can afford it, you can try them all yourself!

Hey, it might sound nuts to you that I've spent a grand on this thus far, but at this point I'm stocked up with juice for months, and I KNOW what e-cig/s I want to use on a daily basis!

I always find it funny when a smoker asks me what a starter kit for an e-cig costs. I tell them: Depends on what you buy, but figure 50-80 dollars. They then say: Wow, that's a lot! Then I ask them how much they paid for their last carton of cigarettes, which in my town is $59 !

The point is, in the long run, or even the short run if you don't try everything out there like I have, vaping is so much cheaper than real cigs. Yeah, I've spent a lot up front, but now that I know what e-cig/s I want to use AND I'm stocked up on juice for at least the rest of the year, I will still end up spending less money vaping than I would smoking. Not to mention the health benefits that I've already noticed !!

I'll reiterate RsL's point... I've spent about $1200 on e-cigs, and I have enough hardware and juice to last for 16 months. I used to spend over $200/month on analog cigarettes, so I would have spent at least $3200 over the next 16 months.

That's a cost reduction of at least $2000.

And as a special bonus I get better health and lots of fun playing with my new toys!

While every once in awhile I experience a momentary feeling of horror over the sheer amount of money that I've spent, for the most part, I'm okay with it.

I was a 2+ pack a day smoker for 30 years, and I tried everything to quit. For me, vaping is a freakin' miracle.

If I were vaping only to save money, I think I would have been fine limiting myself to one or two models of e-cigs and a few basic liquids, and I would have broken even after the first or second month.

But this is a habit that I enjoy, and I don't mind indulging myself. I like to try new models of e-cigs, and I love trying different liquids.

Some people spend money on fine wines. Others go out to fancy restaurants. Still others buy a new car every few years. For me, I buy cheap wine, go out once a month to a nice (but not fancy) restaurant, and buy a used car and drive it for about 6-8 years. :D

Honestly, even though I've spent a pile of $$$$, my break-even point is probably somewhere in September. I'm thinking of placing one more order for 801 atomizers from China, and that will push my break-even point another month out.

But even though I say September is my break-even point, the truth is that I now have enough stuff to last me for more than a year, so if I stop spending now (and my spending has already slowed down considerably), I'll be vaping for free from September through at least May of next year. Yes, I have that much stash.

I fund my ecigs on online Blackjack and bingo.

Any savings I made by not spending $10 a day on analogs I play online with.

So far I have spent over $1500 on ecigs kit for a DSE901 only. 35 Atomizers, 10 or more batteries and 2 litres of juice to name some of it.

But at the same time, I broke even in my 1st month and am actually over $4000 up.

Luck of the draw or cards I suppose.

hmmm this is about 3/4 of what I have.

Not included the wifes few atomizers, batteries and obviously no chargers here.

Also missing about $150 worth of atomizers and batteries and juice the wife has hidden for my birthday

Time to stop i think. 18 full bottles of TW is enough for anyone, plus about 5 more somewhere in the house.

I spent $240.00 my first 2 months of vaping.Thats about 4.00 a day or breaking even if I was smoking. Would have been even less if I didnt start off dropping $100.00 for a Npro and carts.
But I have 4 atomizers still unused between my Npro and 510 and prob a month a half worth of juice on hand.
So its cheaper for me.

I figure I have 3 months until I start seeing some return on my investment... then I'll probably buy a Screwdriver!

Seriously, though, at $500 at know I spent more than I intended to or needed to, but every night I hold my shirt up and don't smell an ashtray makes it all worth while.

VV Yay! my banner works again! VV

I'm like a kid with new toys too. :D

But I have gotten fairly settled in after starting this adventure in early March, have plenty of backup stuff and some good e-liquid. I don't want to add it up but I think I have outspent my 2 pack a day habit for a couple months but what I have now could probably last a year or more.

But I agree, it's all worth it
when I walk into the house and it doesn't smell like an ashtray!
Wow, it smells good in here!

i have the same problem but in reverse, I ordered my shipment has not come, I order a bigger shipment, it too has not arrived,I still don't have any back up supplies I order even more in the next shipment because the first two still aren't here and If I have to wait this long(so far it has been almost a month) then I am going to make damn sure that box has enough to hold me till the next box gets in. Problem is i ordered on the 26th of march 14, 16, 26, of april and 1st of may and still have only gotten the package from march. I t was my first order so it was a very small order. I am almost out of juice and i only have 2 batts and 2 atts and I am panicking. Every day that it doesn't' come I get online to look for a new supplier and try to figure out how i could order more. The worst part is my sister order one shipment from the same supplier on the 16 of April too, and she got hers last Sat. (her order was much smaller)But I makes me wonder what happened to my stuff. I have checked tracking and it is state side but no other comment and not been updated once in all the times I've checked. I would be funny except that i am now obviously obsessed and starting to get paranoid. i even had a nightmare that my mailman was sitting at home smoking my evo's and laughing at me. What time does the support group start? oh yea, i can't go to a meeting i have to stay home and wait to ambush the mailman. lol!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm assuming your ordering direct from China ?? If so, try Eastmall. I placed my first order with them on April 29th and it's already through Customs and at my local USPS facility. I should be getting it tomorrow! Anyway, if you are ordering from China keep your orders on the small size and they should just breeze right through Customs....

I'm with you there too. With access to supplies being questionable at best, I've adopted the stance that I can't predict with any reliability when the next hardware consumable order may be my last. I've started to stock-up on atomizers and batteries, as when any one of them go "bad" the others are worthless too without backups.

What's really got me is the notion of a "platform" change which requires reinvesting in the whole infrastructure from batteries to chargers to pass-throughs. I started with the DSE103/RN-4081, but am trying an alternative for the moment, and I'm up between $500 and $600 before juice costs.

I wouldn't call anyone who stocks up unwise, though because it can be much more easily produced domestically, I think the juice is about the least likely to "dry up" all of a sudden.

lol I started vaping little over a month ago and I'm already at $1000+. I have 3 801 kits, 20+ atomizers, 10 batteries, m401 kit with 5 atomizers and 4 batteries. On top of that I have maybe 450 carts and 9 35ml bottles of liquid. I really need to stop buying stuffs every week. It'll take me around 5 months just to break even but being able to smoke inside my house, on the couch watching the game is priceless.

I have lost count but mine has definitely passed the $1500 mark since last September, which is actually not that bad. I started by ordering DSE models locally but could not stand the cost. Then i started ordering from China and have not looked back.

I now order only the Mseries exclusively at Absolutelyecigs.com. My latest order was shipped on the same day. Should be reaching very soon.

Catatonia: Thats quite a collection you have there. I like the toolbox. Anything under the hood?
