The above thread started out kinda fun. About the personal views between bother and sister involving e-cigs. However by page seven we learn that said sister now as a petition with over 1,500 signatures on it to ban e-cigs in North Carolina. On top of that she and her church group have been in contact with state representatives in NC who are taking the issue seriously.

This is how it starts folks, a small disagreement that then gets taken to a fanatical misinformed church group who begins a state wide and eventually nationwide witch hunt against vaping.

Anyone living in NC, this is your call to action. Start an opposing petition. Get people informed. Get signatures and get them to the state representatives.

Nobody wants to see a wildfire of ignorance spread against vaping.

Wow! What is wrong with these folks?

This is the run down..some busybody member in her church had a son who was smoking these..and she wanted her son to get born again and he refused..and also Mrs busybody held a commintee in teh church and told all the mebers what this esmoke is 'in a bad way' They agreed to start a petition and each member would do 1 hour door to door visits in the local area and get signatures. They ended up getting over 1,500 signatures, contacted 2 state representatives..of which 1 is now firmly backing this group. the main petion was sent to the statehouse.
So my sister is one of the main backers for this also. she refuses to read Anything about esmokes.. She says they are called cigarettes..nuff said..
That the jist of this.

Good ol' Fayetteville :) Now on with the rant...

I don't understand how people can be so stubborn as to just disagree with something they have NO clue about. It's called a cigarette so that means it's bad!... What petitions has she started against analog cigarettes?! No offense man, but she is clueless (as well as the 1500 people who signed). She couldn't have even explained what they are to the people who signed, since she obviously doesn't know.

I'm new to this whole thing, but at least I did my research before I decided to LIKE the idea.

I'm also a little confused HOW she was able to get through with this without doing ANY research. If she HAD, she would know the MANY benefits vs the... 0? cons.

Anywho... sorry for the rant. Stubbornness is just kind of a pet peeve of mine.

A counter petition is a good idea, however, I would suggest an email campaign now while organizing a formal petition drive. One could easily add links about the Truth and mention there will always be "nuts" in the world against something.

Mention that Iowa and Virginia have approved vaping anywhere including indoors. Might influence the State rep. from making a fool out of himself. On the other hand the State rep. may be a hard-shell radical "born again" idiot.

Some people could go extinct and no one would miss them.

I'd definitely sign it, though I'm in SC, I work in NC so it affects me as well. If this thing gets really serious, someone could always point out to the news stations in Charlotte the nice conflict of interest that particular rep has going on. Something like that is enough to at least gunk up the gears in their plan.
