The Godper Blueprint sounds an awful lot like the Overton Window.

Take two wildly opposite, unthinkable extremes. In the case of government, it could be anarachy at one end of the scale, and total control over every aspect of your life by the government at the other end of the scale. The Overton Window is a point somewhere in between. The policy-makers can't move you abruptly any great distance down the line toward the opposite end without generating a lot of protest, but people will accept being moved one little step at a time.

Why haven't cigarettes been totally outlawed? Too large a percent of the population would rise up in arms. But take away this freedom, and then take away that one, a little at a time, and the lemmings meeky march over the edge of the cliff eventually.

The Overton Window is a Thriller by Glen Beck.

Absolutely....it is a brilliant strategy. They are getting bolder now though, and bold rashness is what usually trips the Fascists (and they most certainly are Fascists). The recent bill in FLA to take away Medicaid coverage from smokers, drinkers, and the obese and the bill in Oregon to make cigarettes and all nicotine prescription only are only two examples of their recent extremism. For those who call foul when comparing the anti-smokers to Hitler, I offer the middle finger salute. They are what they are, and calling them NAZIS is indeed appropriate.

Thank you for not using the frog-in-boiling-water analogy. It's become a pet peeve of mine ever since I learned that a frog will, in fact, jump out of the water when it gets too hot no matter how gradually the temperature increases. :toast:

Also, flies are actually more attracted to vinegar than honey. But I digress.

Spoke with Rep Seth Whipper (Charleston) this morning and he had no clue what an e-cig was.
He was in Columbia at the time and was not sure where this Bill was in regards to the Agenda.
He said he would contact me when he was back in Charleston so we could meet face to face and I could show him what we are all about and why the e-cg needs to not be a part of this bill.
I reiterated that many of us want to be present in Columbia when the bill came up on the agenda. He said he would let me know.
