This is a review of the Backwoods Brew Applewood Tobacco E-Liquid 24mg.

I started vaping February of 2008. Of course I started on Chinese Dekang liquid, because that's all there was at the time. A few months ago, I became very bored with my equipment and my liquids. My whole vaping experience had become bland. I was ready to quit vaping, but that meant going back to tobacco, and I really didn't want to do that...

Every week, I was reading rave reviews of USA made liquids from a bunch of suppliers. I was ordering a few bottles a week, much to the chagrin of my wife and my bank account. Everything I got was pretty much the same.

Either the liquid was tasty, but dark brown, or clear but with no throat hit, or smooth but tasteless... It seemed like the holy trinity of Flavor, Throat Hit, and Color (consistency) was out of my reach.

I struck up a conversation with Don and I could immediately tell I was on to something. This guy was serious about quality. All his ingredients, including the Nicotine, were of the highest quality. He wasn't just dumping generic flavorings into spiked Glycol. I ordered a couple flavors from him with high hopes.

Well, two minutes after I dropped some of the Applewood Tobacco on my atty I had to call Don and congratulate him! AMAZING!!! And this is from someone who has been trying just about every USA made juice out there!

The first thing that you will notice is that the liquid is nice and clear. It is also the perfect consistency: not syrupy, and not runny. The smell of it is the smell of an old tobacco shop full of aged tobacco leaves.

Now, hit the button!

Flavor: A strong, sweetish (not sickly sweet) tobacco. It tastes like the smell of a freshly opened pack of Dunhill Full Flavors. You can tell that this is a top shelf flavor, it tastes expensive. Now, the taste is very strong, not merely a hint of the leaf. The aftertaste: A bold Applewood flavor, a hint of Cedar, everything that you love about smoked cheese or smoked meat (without the cheese or meat flavor, of course).

Throat Hit: This is in a class of its own! Liquids either are too smooth and give no hit, or tear at the back of your throat in a very chemical way. I love the throat hit just as much as the next guy, but I don't want to be in pain... The BWB Applewood gives you a "full" feeling. Like your throat is getting a gentle but firm kick and your lungs are full of smoke.

On a scale of one to ten (overall vaping experience):

Chinese liquid: 2-3

Most of the USA made juice I've tried: 3-6

Halo Freedom: 7 (too sweet)

Backwoods Brew Applewood Tobacco: 10

And Don is the kind of guy that you immediately want to have as your friend. Some people write LOL all the time, this guy really does LOL all the time, I love it!

The bottles are filled to the brim, so a 30ml bottle probably is closer to 35ml. Don is very accommodating and reasonable in his pricing, and does not try to make extra money with shipping costs.

Basically, I was ready to give up, and this liquid saved the vape for me!

I think that's all I really need to say...

Thank you Don.

The color of the juice has to do with how attys react to it. A clear juice has less suspended particulates in it, so there is less to get caught in the coil/wick/batting. A dark liquid will clog the atty and more of the "dirt" will collect in the batting of the cartridge. If you are using cartomizers, a dark liquid will cause the carto to start to taste "funky" after a short while...

Some reviews are simply *worth* more than others. I implore youz guyz to take a look at the forum "join date" of one Faux Puff. I've done quite a bit of searching myself for just the right e-liquids at the right price with the right CS. Over a year later, I *know* that I have also ended my search at Backwoods Brew. My first dealing with Don was about a year ago and I keep on coming to Backwoods after straying away to vendor XYZ.

Faux Puff has a whole year of vaping experience (and e-liquid purchasing) beyond me. That is powerful testimony.

I haven't tried apple wood, yet. But, I will be very soon -- and I just received an order from BWB YESTERDAY. Malty, Honey Cured, Espresso, BWB signature and now (as of yesterday) Maple tobacco are a FEW of my staples. There is NO other supplier/maker of e-liquid where I have a half dozen go-to flavors. More importantly and speaking in higher volumes is the fact that no one I've recommended to BWB has been disappointed. In fact, the word "best" continues to be prominent in describing the e-liquids from BWB newbies.

So it's like going to a private vendor? How come there is no site to purchase it? Sounds really great, I'll give em a try.
Don's web-site is coming soon............stay tuned. Oh, and you will NOT be disappointed in either his customer service or his brews. I'm actually afraid of a web-site as it will make it far too easy to place an order. ;-)

Hes a ECF approved vendor, and I heard he will have a website very soon. Check out reviews, he has awesome liquid and fantastic service

BWB is just where it's at! Even the labels on the bottles just give you that feeling that you're getting personal service. Not some big company, not some fly by night either. I can't say enough about Don or his products! I'm glad I stumbled on this because I may not have ordered the applewood.

Don't think it's been mentioned yet, but IMO the TH of BWB is the most realistic out there. Not a harsh TH just a nice smooth vape with a special TH I find hard to describe. Normally a place like this I would rather be that best kept secret, but I have no reason to believe that as business grows the one thing Don won't let his guard down on is his customer service.
