My wife and I bought an HDSmoke eCig last Saturday to help us give up cigarettes. We both like it and I want to move up to some better hardware and ejuice. The 6 cartos that came with the kit are half gone and tasted like crap anyway.

I am looking to buy an eGo passthrough battery, Crystal V2 cartomizer and some ejuice.
I intend to order online but thought if I could get some ejuice locally to refill my existing 510 style cartomizers I would.

I called the only two stores I could think of in Moncton that may sell ejuice and hardware.
Up in Smoke, where we bought the HDSmoke, and Dr. Deals. Neither place had any idea of what I was taking about.

Does anyone know of a store that sells ejuice? I am not looking for nicotine just something to get me through until an online order can get here. The alternative is spending $25 for 5 crappy tasting cartos from Up in Smoke.

Thanks
Angus

There aren't any B&M stores in the Maritimes that I'm aware of, let alone in Moncton & area. You could check with some vendors closer to here, like Vaporus (Montreal) and see if he can overnight you something (xpresspost will take 2 days usually).

Also, just a tip, but those Crystal V2s are just a old version of a stardust that don't work very well (imho), get a eGo Twist and some T3s or EVODs. You'll get a much better vape. Really, anything other than a Stardust will give you a better vape.

Thanks Battlelance. These existing stores are missing a big (growing) market and, from I can tell, have no interest in learning.

Before I read your response I ordered a Happy eGo USB Passthrough Intro Kit, Crystal V2 and some menthol ejuice from Happer Vaper.
I checked Vaporus but they didn't have the passthrough battery. No doubt I will order the eGo Twist at some point. I see they have T3 Clearomizers too.

This is a learning process. I had no idea a Clearomizer was a Cartomizer. Vendors aren't exactly catering to beginners. The descriptions leave a lot to the imagination.

What do you mean by the Crystal V2 not working very well?

I don't know how much of a growing market there is around here, since there are only 4 or 5 of us that vape in this province :)

So, to start, a clearomizer isn't a cartomizer. A carto is basically a metal tube filled with polyfill that you soak with juice, like the Boge 510 or a Kanger. A clearomizer is a stardust, iclear, crystal v2, etc (they're clear). A bottom-coil clearomizer like the T3, EVOD or Vapeonly are the same thing, but instead of wicks at the top, they wick from the bottom so you can avoid having to tip - I prefer these personally.

I agree, it is a bit of a learning process at the start. I highly recommend checking out the tons of youtube videos on the hardware and juices, that will help explain a lot. Vendors like Canvape also offer "newbie kits" the include a little bit of everything so you can find the hardware you prefer. Passthroughs are kinda passe now though, the ego twists and vv spinners (same idea different vendor) took over in the ego market simply because variable voltage is the cats meow. Taylor your voltage to the resistance of your attached device, to your juice and to your flavour.

I just checked happy vapers site and took a look at their v2s, you might be ok with those. Do a google search for crystal v2 and you'll get no less than 3 very different products :) The version of stardust you ordered I've never used, so ignore what I said.

Anyway, welcome to vaping, send me a pm, or keep the discussion going here if you have questions.

There may be only 4 or 5 of us on this forum but eCigs are becoming popular. Maybe we should open a store. :)
For me, it was a natural progression from eCigs to something better. Within a day I wanted something better. :) My wife is still satisfied with the 510 eCig.
I wanted the passthrough just so I have something that be charged anywhere. I'll probably get another complete setup to use at home.

If you are looking for a great bottom coil clearomizer that is the best in my opinion, Canvape sells the Firebird Bottom Coil Cartomizer.( I have no idea why it's called a cartomizer as there is no filler in them) it is the Phoenix Ce3. Best taste and vapour next to dripping you wil ever find. They live forever, easy to clean, no wicks to mess with, no burnt taste and no leaking. Nothing comes close to me. I also will vouch for the Twist or Spinner as I have Spinner and love it!

Cartomizer is just a contraction of the words cartridge and atomizer so essentially any tank with a built-in atomizer is a cartomizer. Anyway, these are all relatively new words in the English language. :)

I like the Firebirds. They may work well with the small 510 battery my wife is using. I would like to find something easier to fill and more reliable than the original cartomizers.
What battery are you using?

Now that I understand a little more it looks as though the short wick will mean I will have to hold the PV horizontal to keep liquid on the wick.

Smoking was so much easier to learn. :)

Yes, but a tank isn't a cartomizer, and a clearomizer isn't a tank. :)

I used the bottom coil firebirds/phoenix for the longest time, they do give great flavour. The downside is cleaning can be a pain, so once the T3s came out, I stopped using them. The firebirds also require a syringe to fill, whereas a T3 can be filled right from the bottle. Also, the firebirds are standard res, so the vape will be very meh on a 3.4v device.

I guess the point is everyone has their favorite hardware and eventually you'll find the best setup for you. The only thing I can say with certainty is that you'll want a variable voltage device because the control you have over the vape. Plus a twist at 600/900/1000mah should last you all day depending on how many ml you vape.

I started with a 510 manual kit and less than a month later ended up buying a kGo VV (had three voltage settings) and a month after that two ego twists then a year later a SS Vamo. Such is the deal with vaping, it costs money to find something that works for you, and as your taste changes, what worked today won't do it for you tomorrow.

At least with a standardized eGo, or 510, battery connection these batteries can be used with updated carto/clear/whatever_comes_next mizers.
Even when I switch to variable voltage batteries having the passthrough will be handy.

For sure-trust me you feel like you should be studying for a physic exam. Very overwhelming! Personally I have 2 ego minis for work. Great for stealth vaping- Last 4 hours each. One is a 3.7 the other is a 4.2v. They work awesome with my Ce3's and my Ego Vision Spinner (exactly like the Twist except its 1300mah and I can read the dial to switch voltage at bottom) gives me at least 10 hours. I personally find the firebirds easy to use with a syringe. To clean all I do is syringe water through the hole and blow it out- refill. I don't have any desire to move up yet because everything works well for me. My addiction now is trying all the liquids. You have to put Jugheads on your list of must have places to try. Awesome stuff! You can't beat Canvape's prices for hardware and they get the newest stuff in quite quickly.

I bought my first set up from "Up in Smoke", too! Unfortunately, it is not a 510 connection. It is a RN4081. I also bought cartomizers for it while in Presque Isle, Maine (I personally needed the nic).

If you would like to meet for coffee and a chat, please let me know. I may be able to answer some questions you may have and it is always nice to meet fellow Vapers! That is a rare treat, indeed, in Moncton.

Well, now I know what is going on in Moncton.
Either the city inspectors or Health Canada is lying to them about the legality of vaping hardware and liquid.
The owner of "Up in Smoke" said that the inspector told him he had to remove anything from his store that could be filled with ejuice containing nicotine.
He isn't going to fight it. I understand that. He has a business that isn't very popular with the public as it is why challenge an inspector to gain a handful of customers.
I haven't checked with the other Head Shop but I suspect he has been bullied too.

I don't really want to have to go to a Head Shop to buy vaping supplies anyway.
