My question is does it hurt anything to store or keep my mod in the box with the 18650 battery in it. I usually get it out once a day and hit it a few times then put it back in the box with the battery installed. Will this hurt anything? It's a evic vtcmini by the way.

I don't understand why you put your mod in the box, but there's nothing wrong with that.
I don't know if these batteries are different (I mean, I know they are different, but I don't know if they're different in this particular aspect) but have you even seen what happens to like an old TV remote when you leave the AA batteries in for a long time without using it? I suppose if you're still using it every day it might be different, though.
Even a few days or a week is fine IMO. If I don't plan to use a mod for weeks/months, I remove the batteries and store in a box with a few silica gel pouches.
