also make sure to store them thread side up to keep the voltage from pouring out the atty hole. I don't think it matters with rechargables, just don't keep them in a hot place.
The refrigerator is fine, just not the freezer. It has also been recomended that if you plan to store Lithium Ions for an extended period of time, they should be store at about a 40% charge. Here is a link with lots of good info on batteries. Welcome to Battery University
