Hi just started vaping last month and am enjoying every day.

Quick question. I have a couple of tanks which I'm interchanging on my mods.

Is it better to keep tanks with juice inside especially if I'm not going to use for a few days?
Seems logical to me so as not to have the cotton dry up.

Any comments? Suggestions?

Unused, after a week or so tanks and RDAs start to develop a funny taste. If it's going to be unused for more than this I pull the wick, dry burn the coil and wash the tank. Whether the tank is full or not, unless you ran the the wick completely dry it's still going to be wet, this makes no difference.

As sonic bomb said, left unused, a tank will get stale with or without being full. The cotton will not dry up anymore than when you put it on the shelf.
Fir me, It's all about taste and convenience. I generally will vape a tank pretty low before taking it out of rotation. If it goes back into rotation the next day, refill and go. If it sits out for a week, take a hit. If it tastes okay, refill and go. If it tastes almost okay and I'm in a hurry, refill and go. A tank of fresh juice can freshen things up enough to get through the day. If it doesn't taste okay, then re wick.
When I'm less lazy, I'll clean, re wick, prime, and test fire a tank / RDA or two. I haven't had any issues with pretty clean juice (rather than end of tank or RDA that's getting dark) sitting around for a week or even more.
All that said, YMMV.

When you guys mention cleaning the tank just water?
Most of the time I just run it under water. Every couple of months I will use dish detergent.
Is it okay to run them under water to clean them?
If I am switching to a similar flavor (i.e. one fruit to another) I do not rinse.
If I am going from a tobacco to a fruit juice then I will soak in water or PGA/vodka and then let it dry overnight.

How about pre-built coils that come in kits. Is it okay to run them under water to clean them?
That's your call. Plenty of people do it all the time, and they're still alive and kickin' but personally I don't use tap water on factory coils because I don't want to vape the chlorine and fluoride that the city puts into the water, or other impurities (minerals, etc.) that may get left behind in the wick even if it's dried thoroughly. Instead I use isopropyl (rubbing) or ethyl alcohol (strong vodka/everclear/pure grain alcohol). They are both distilled so are very pure, and evaporate clean with no residue but I prefer the ethanol since it's not poisonous to ingest on the off chance that it's not completely dry before you use it. For rebuildables I don't mind giving it a good rinse under the tap but in that case I'm not reusing the wick, I'm going to put a fresh one in anyway so I don't worry about what the water might introduce to it.
