I didnt read everything so sorry if this was posted already. Where I live we get a lot of ice storms that shut things down so I have a Kensington for emergencies.

kensington power pack, Electronics, Computers Networking. Great deals on eBay!

They work great and will charge your ecig if you have the usb charger or you can run a passthru on it. Stay warm!

I have the same Kensington and I use it all day for days with my passthrough. I bought it for very long flights to recharge my ipod touch, and now it's my portable passthrough power source. Highly recommended.

I am sooo jealous of you guys! I know it really sucks for you to be stuck in all that snow, but in my part of Georgia we're lucky to get flurries every 2-3 years! Keep the pics coming! I love looking at them! Saty warm and safe everyone!

Wanna switch? I've mostly lived in MI near Detroit my whole life and have seen and driven in enough @#$$%^&!#$% snow for several lifetimes.

I have to wonder if there's anyone shoveling snow thinking. Damn I'm glad I'm vaping and not smoking anymore. I'm very aware on how much exercise shoveling snow is.

'You are not joking! My lungs are still so out of shape it is not even funny. I did my fair share of shoveling today and not done yet. The rest will have to wait till tomorrow.

ugh! I noticed on 511virginia that the roads around DC are purple. Still snowing in Roanoke... but we have power! Not that we want to use it. Our bill from last month was $642. Think of all the juice and cartos I coulda bought... :p

Hang in there, Michelle! So what are you doing to stay warm? I'd be in a sleeping bag with gloves on vaping away. ;)

OMG! $642!!!! With electric and natural gas we paid maybe $210. And we have floor to ceiling windows and lousy insulation plus we work nights so we use our lights later and I never take the clothes out of the dryer like I should so I have to run it extra! I couldn't afford to live there!!!8-o

I've got a buddy in Pennsylvania now, he said it's a mess right now, they declared a state of emergency already.

I'm glad I don't have these worries anymore! We had a HUGE ice storm here in 2004/2005, my wife was pregnant, we were told no power for ten days. We already had a wood burning stove and plenty of wood, but she was not at all interested in living with family at this time.
I went out that night looking for a generator and couldn't find one anywhere, all sold out. On the way home I had a flash, "I'll just go buy a welder!"
I got up and went to Attwoods the next morning, I called my wifes cell "Well, they have two 1000watt generators, a 6.4kw welder generator/welder and a 10kw generator/welder." She told me to get the BIG ONE, I didn't argue:D
Now when the power goes out, the heater works, all the lights work, the fridge is running, you can use the microwave and run the dishwasher. The hardest choice is to cook supper on the stove or run the dryer. (We are all electric) Not a bad choice to have to make!
We are supposed to have a bad one moving in tomorrow through Tuesday, 4-15" of snow, maybe. I don't care, let it snow. I'll have power and if I need to get out I'll fire up the skid steer and make a path!:D

Thanks for your sympathies, notsoogood!

Yes, yes. The 642 was abnormal and not what I ever budget for! (Me when I opened the bill: ) The budget looks more like the range you mentioned. It has to do with an unseasonably cold winter here in VA and ongoing rate hikes. We have a generator that powers the horse trailer living area. At this rate, we'll be moving out there! We're toying with the idea of supplementing with some other-generated power sources, maybe using the stream that flows down the hill from the house. This... this aggression... will not stand, man.

The ones I feel bad for are the ones who were already on a tight budget. What do they do when their bill triples?

Answer for you... yeth.

But I'm a frail liddle thing...

Okay thanks, I was wondering if I should ask my neighbor with a snowblower to help me with my driveway. But he was out yesterday and did everyones sidewalk on the block. I bet he is pretty tired. I think I will just keep chipping at it in short spurts. I still get winded very easily.

I had some guys stop by and offer to do it for $120  Heck no! I have nowhere to go for the next few days so for that price I will do it myself.

Lol I'd switch for a couple of years. Actually, they're saying we're supposed to get snow all day tomorrow, so we'll see what happens. I need it. Every time something in my life is going really well it snows. I need it this year more than ever.
