The reporter had never seen nor heard of e-cigarettes before he received the CASAA Press Release. We still have a long way to go in educating the public. The general public is mostly very positive and excited about the possibilities of this product. It only seems to be the tobacco control community who sees nothing but negatives. The "health professionals" are so concerned about protecting us against "addiction" that they are willing to watch us die of lung disease, heart diease or cancer. I guess you could say that they are killing us with kindness.

Did he happen to want to learn any more about them? It'd be so great to get more positive coverage! ;)

The reporter told me in their morning news meeting, when he brought up the subject of the e cig, another person (apparently a smoker) asked if he was referring to the "fire safe" cigarettes. No one in the news room knew what he was talking about.

Is that lady a member of our forum?? If not, she should join!! Great video.

It's a little ironic that they finished it saying that individual restaraunts still have the right to ban them if they choose, since they don't have the option of allowing smoking if they want to. I don't want the perfect to be the enemy of the good, but I would think that if the AG says it's allowed,,, that the law would be uniform, or that exceptions could be made for individual establishments that wanted to welcome smokers. With all the stuff we've been fighting though,,, this does seem like a victory for us!
