I have used only vg with my ego tank and I clean the atty weekly just by blowing it out and sometimes a quick rinse with warm water and monthly my rep takes the post out and checks the wick and cleans the burner for me which he just did so remember this (I just learned this myself today lol) if at any point your not getting the same hit as you were when you started it could need a real good cleaning or your wick may have fallen out of the post Mine was not working properly today and didn't seem to be sucking the juice out of the tank my rep checked it out. (now I know how to take apart and check myself) in any case my wick had fallen through the post down near the burner and so it wasn't allowing the fluid to run through down to the burner properly the wick is maybe a quarter inch in length and needs to be adjusted at times I guess after 30 days of using it that's what happened weather this was bad luck or something that happens regularly I am unsure but something to watch out for now it works the same as the first day and the flavor is back and the throat hit is a little less so I am a very happy camper right now.Hope this helps someone new at some point good luck

i have always wanted to take tht plate n spike out...but i can never find the right tools. what do you use?? is it just something cheap you can find at your local dollar store?? i cant find anything anywhere small enough to take the atty apart..

He used a pair of needle nose pliers he told me all I had to do to pull that spike out is to take the pliers that have a good grips at the end of it and grab that post with a good firm grip and just pull and it pops right out being very care full not to close it up and do not lose your little piece of wick the wick is really small.I have not done this myself as of yet but I watched as he did it so PLEASE DO AT YOUR OWN RISK I don't want to be responsible for anyone wrecking their EGO-T atty he said other people are said to use a flat head and just insert down beside the plate and pop it that way but it sounded like that was not a good idea.

Vaping Vg in your ego T has both pros and cons. The tanks tend to never leak that way, and they tend to actually wick at a reasonable pace. However, you have to tend to the atty more to keep it from getting gunked up. I tend to blow mine out if they are going go unused for hours instead of letting the juice sit in them. Vg tends to make cleaning them needed a bit more often, so overall its a mixed bag to me.

I use the low resistance type B version atty. YMMV with others.

I use 100% VG, I am allergic to PG, and yes VG gunks up the wick. From all the reading, it seems that sweet, darker juice or 100% VG will gunk up the wick. For me, the taste when the wick is gunked up is unbearable!

For 17 days of vaping, I have gunked up three EGO-t attys. I disassemble my first atty and the wick was like hard candy. I soaked the wick but it seem to fall apart on the reassembling of the atty.

I am a noob and a lurker, so I only joined the forum for the rewicking pics, lol. The site has been great on info for the re-wicking of the EGO-t atty.

I will have my first rewicking of an EGO-t atty tomorrow if my silica fiber comes in the mail. I thinking about preparing a bunch of wicks and forgoing of cleaning the wicks if they are to be that delicate.

Been using a 60% VG, 40% PG mix in the tanks for quite a while, no issue. However, I thin my pure VG with ~15% Everclear 151 beforehand.

Probably the best tool to use for pulling the spke plate is a piece of cooper tubing small enough in diameter to fit snugly around the spike. However, I just a use a screwdriver that fits nicely in the slots on the sides and pry it out that way. To re-install it, I just place it on the cartridge and push it in. First time removal is a bit hard, but the plates come out real easy after that. I take them apart to clean and dry burn them. I also replace the wicks when they get nasty.

My wick died and I didn't feel like waiting for my rep I have seen lots of things on here for wick replacement, but I wanted it up and running now and not wait for some silica rope order. I went and bought a zippo wick I pulled some strands out of it then folded it threaded it through the plate reinstalled the plate and I am back vaping through my tank atty how long it will last remains to be seen but zippo wicks are cheap and easy to get and I believe they are made of the same silca rope they say to order in any case I soaked it in water let it dry then threaded it and that was it no burning no chemical taste nothing was easy peasie. In any case there must be somewhere that sells the actual wick replacement cause my rep has it he showed it to me it is small like rope with a wire in it I have not been able to find it yet but if I do I will let everyone know or I will try to find out form him when I see him next.
