Wow, thank you. 24 hours? That's great. 60 Celsius will be fine for any glass jar. Won't it?
Another great tip.
So everything can be done in just over a day.
Same job with the tobacco?

That mason jar you've been using is perfect for this I use the same type of jar for my hot alcohol tobacco extracts and 24 hours is perfect for tobacco. Tobacco is mostly what I do. Should also work well for vanilla in VG.

For tobacco, I'd suggest this method. Tobacco extraction using heated Ethanol

Alcohol has a lower boiling point than water so you need to use something like this. Inkbird Itc-308 Digital Temperature Controller Outlet Thermostat, 2-stage, 1100w, w/ Sensor: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

My crock pot stays a constant 140F which I find perfect for alcohol extraction, but I love that outlet controlled thermostat. I just bookmarked it for future use. And I agree about the heated alcohol tobacco extraction it's the way I've done it for the past 18 months. Works great.

Forgot to put a quote in @dannyv45

Also, I'm sorry. Last couple of questions (i think). Can I take extracts from any and everything? Are there some products to be mindful of?
Alcohol for extraction?
Sugar from fruits?
How do you add sweeteners like stevia?
Anything else to avoid?

I have a crock pot (well, my mother has one), but i have an induction hob and the crock pot is not suitable for it.
Can i put the crock pot inside the oven and do the same thing?
Because a 24 hour continuous oven/hob use is out of the question would it be ok for me to use the hob in two 12 hour stints or perhaps four 6 hour stints?

Many thanks

An oven/hob seems like a lot of work where a crock pot is nothing more then just turning it on and waiting. I'm not sure what country your in but in the USA there not expensive and worth the expense just for the sake of simplicity. I really don't know how to further advise you on this subject.

As far as whats safe to extract. I can't really say other then the usual tobacco, coffee, tea, mint, orange, lemon rind etc.. Other then that if it's an uncommon herb or product you want to extract do research on it first. You certainly don't want to poison yourself by mistake:)

As far as using alcohol for extraction we are talking about pure grain alcohol do not ever use rubbing alcohol. I linked to a good thread on this earlier.

You should read it.

As far as sweetener most off the shelf sweeteners or powdered sweeteners are to weak to use and may contain by-products that may be unsafe to vape or may damage coils. It's best to purchase a sweetener from a vaping supply vendor.

From the questions your asking it seems you want to go all natural with as much extraction and home processed ingredients as you can. That my friend is an area that I am not an expert in and my knowledge on this subject is limited to the previously mentioned common extractions..

Oh, Just looked. Sorry, don't have much of an idea of the kitchen ;)
I thought the crockpot was just like a saucepan but different material. I see what it is now. Thanks
