so I made a coil today and the day before for a protank 2. I am using organic cotton for the wicking... For some reason (dunno if it is wicking, or coil build) I get a strange flavor, almost tastes like vomit. It's such a nasty taste. What could it be? could it be the wicking, or the coil? I am using a propane torch. Could I possibly be making the coil too hot to squeeze it together? I am just confused here.

It could be the cotton. Cotton can have a break in time. You could have also used to much. Cotton swells when it absorbs juice and that can choke off the wick. Try re-wicking using less make sure you don't twist it tight. The cotton should slide freely in the coil. Put a drop or 2 of juice on the wick before you put the chimney back on. then a drop on each side after you put the coil in the base. After you fill your tank let it sit for about 5 mins before you hit it.

You may have an off taste for the first few hits but it will clear out after a few hits.

Thank you very much for the reply and the help. I had used too much cotton... I just rewicked it, and bad taste had diminished within a few pulls. Now I know not to use too much.

I read on the forum, someone said take the amount of cotton you think would be enough for wicking then half it. So I'm going to live by that rule lol.
