a week ago i was using my vivi nova and when i screwed it all the way down, my ohm reader would indicate sub ohms (like .4 or something). I had to loosen it to the point where it could move around on the battery to get a proper reading and make the iTaste V3 work. Now i switched to a Protank 3 and everything has been fine for a week but now, after changing the atomizer head twice today, i'm having the same issue. If screwed all the way down, i get 0.00 ohm reading and have to unscrew a bit. Unscrewing a bit isn't an issue with the PT3 though as it still remains snug on the battery, but i'm curious as to what causes that wrong ohm reading. Is it the battery or the tank?

Also, i'm having issues with Kanger's atomizer heads. The 2 that came with the Protank 3 had gurgling issues and were the long stem ones. I bought a pack of replacements that are actually short stem ones. Tried 1 anyway and while the flavor was not as good as the long stems, there was no gurgling and i used it for a week with no problems whatsoever. This morning i changed the head and while it worked the draw was tighter and had a strange sound to it (i have an aerotank base on my PT3). Came home to take it apart and noticed it had leaked inside the aerotank base and that's what was causing the sound and tighter draw, cleaned it, put it back together, same problem immediately. Then i notcied the little rubber ring at the base was thinner then the other one. I changed the head again and surprisingly, flavor, vapor production and throat hit are better then anything i had before, only problem is that now im having the bad ohm reading, which is a shame because im really enjoying the vape right now.

Anyone else had similar issues with their tanks? Im thinking of getting into rebuilding but i dont know what size of kanthal/ekowool to use...

Edit: Im having the sub ohm issue on both my iTaste V3. so im thinking its the new coil but im not sure how it could cause that...

Edit 2: strange, i filled up the tank and throat hit has become harsher now... Google can't seem to help me on this one.

Need to ohm out your coils and if they ohm out fine then install and ohm them again. If they ohm out fine then it maybe the center pin of you mod is touching the side of the 510 wall. This happens when the insulator fails. Could also be some contamination in the 510 hole on your mod. Had a wire chip get in there one time. One more thing to try if the atty and coil ohm out good would be to put on a 510 to 510 adapter and see if that affects it. Try a diff atty or a diff mod eliminate something.

your compressing the rubber grommet that holds the Positive and Negative coil leads..
doing this will cause a short, and can damage the coil head permanently

only screw the atty down tight enough to make a connection. it might wobble a bit that is "normal" for the devices you are talking about.

dont try to really torque it down or you will break something.
