Not a major issue, as I don't use the MVP much anymore, but while playing around with it yesterday I discovered the following;

With three different Kanger EVOD Glass (slim 1st gen style), fires every time with any style coil.

With Kanger Aerotank mini, always fires, any coil.

Now...

With Kanger EMOW, never fires. Reads 'NON'. The same EMOW works fine with every other device I own, problem is definitely isolated to the MVP, though I'm not insinuating the MVP or EMOW is malfunctioning, but rather simply incompatible. Alas, I only have one EMOW to test. It's ok though...I can live with a bit of unplanned incompatibility.

But now this...

With four different EVOD 2 Glass (the new, slightly shorter/wider style), fires reliably with two, no fire (any style coil) with the other two. These are identical tanks, bought at the same time, differing only in color. I have no reason to suspect they're anything other than legit Kangers.

Initially I assumed it was the coils. It's not the coils...I tried several different (old and new closed style) ones. It's two of the bases. The two bases in question simply won't fire with coils that work fine on the good bases. Visually, the bases are identical, (as far as I can tell), but apparently there's some tiny little discrepancy between my four bases that isn't visible to the (my) naked eye.

A microscopic burr? A fraction of a millimeter of threading that wasn't machined into two bases? Anybody have any ideas?

:)

*EDIT* The two bases in question work fine on all my other devices. Issue isolated to MVP 2.

Sounds like the center pin of the battery is not making a connection with the atomizer of the clearomizer/tank. This usually occurs from over-tightening the tank onto the battery connector. Just make sure that if you use something conductive (metal) to pry up on the center pin that you do NOT hit the fire button while you are working on the battery. Or better yet, turn off the battery.

It's common. The positive pins on the MVP and atty aren't touching. My evod 2 did it sometimes. Pull the atty pin out a hair and pry the MVP pin up a hair. Connection made. Once I ditched the p.o.s. brass, fixed pin connector on my mvp and installed a stainless steel, spring loaded pin, fatdaddyvapes 510 connector, all connection issues went away.

The MVP is somewhat notorious for this. Either pull up the center-pin as Smann suggested, or get a 510->510/ego adapter. I always use the adapters; they serve as a thread protector, and definitely fix the problem, at the expense of a little extra height.

Decided it's not worth prying on the MVP and possibly breaking it, but I did pull out the pin a bit on the coil. Worked, at least until I unscrewed and then screwed it back onto the MVP, (compressed the pin back into place, apparently). So I tried a coil I rebuilt using 28 g kanthal. The thicker wire makes that pin stick out just a tiny bit more. Works.

Really minute differences...like hundredths of a millimeter, are enough to get it working. Still though, I'm puzzled as to why the issue is isolated to these two EVOD bases.

Thanks
