Update: I got the 510 Boge LR cartomizers today. The vapor is warm and the taste is amazing! Very happy with them.

Thanks for the help guys :)

Hey I first bought a vip e-cig online and I've been refilling the cartomizers with the condom method with a strawberry liquid. It tastes really good and the vapor is warm etc but the battery dies way to quick so I got a 900mah ego battery and put a ego vision clearomizer on it.

I filled it up to the 1.6ml mark but the vapor is cold and it just doesn't taste very good. It's like when my vip e-cig cartomizers are running out. I can taste the strawberry a little bit but also some other strange taste.

I'm new to all this so not sure exactly sure whats causing it. The battery is fully charged etc.

The cartomizers I have wont fit on this battery but maybe I can buy cartomizers that will? Maybe I need a cartomizer that heats up more to make the vapor warm? I don't know :(

Thanks for any help :D

Sounds like your battery voltage and the clearo's resistance are a poor match. I'm not sure if the Vision clearo's are available in a lower resistance, if so that would likely help a lot with flavor and warming the vapor. Your Ego battery is a fixed 3.4V and is usually a little better with lower resistance devices.

A few things here can help.
With a 900mah batt you should try lower resistances in your carto/clearos (1.5-2.0)
Also prime or let the Visions sit a few minutes after filling to make sure the coil gets wetted (see youtube)
You sound like you are used to cartomizers (have filling) buy a couple dual coil high voltage 1.5 LR cartos (boge, smoktech, vaporkings)

Hope this helps:)

Hi and welcome to ECF. The VIP is prolly an 808 threading while the eGo is 510. If you want you could buy an adapter. As for a warmer vape- the lower the resistance the warmer the vape. Boge 2.0 or 1.7 Smok Tech single coil cartos aka Resurrectors should give a warmer vape but the batts will drain slightly quicker.
Good Luck.

I would often get very dull flavors from the vision clearomizers. Others have had great success with them, unfortunately I never did. There are many youtube videos on tips tricks and fixes for them. Yes you can buy cartomizers that will fit the ego battery, you need cartos that are 510 threaded. On the ego, I'd suggest low resist cartos, most will reccomend the boge cartos. The only ones I would not use on the ego batteries are the dual coil cartos as they drain the battery really quick in my opinion and are best used with higher voltage mods.

When I used cartos, my favorites of the ones I tried were the Kanger horizontal coil, I would get a warm vapor from it, and if I was chain vaping them my aluminum drip tip would even get warm enough to give a little burn to my lip, nothing to cause a blister, or anything, just enough to say damn thats hot LOL

As Flyer said 2.0 Boge will be perfect. Regarding your juice:
Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 10%
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. I vape 70/ 30 PG/ VG.

Thanks :)

Would Boge 510 Cartomizer 2.0 Ohm be good or do I go even lower to 1.5? I can only find duel coil 1.5 Ohm though.

Yeah I think the high resist is probably your main problem. I have about 7 clearomizers and generally swear by them. That being said consistency does seem to vary and after 2-3 fills they tend to gunk up. I do notice a difference vaping on them cold vs. warmed up. After a few minutes of vaping they get nice and warm (on ~3.6v) and seem to level out.

BTW - Last night I successfully cleaned my first clearomizer and it came out pretty good! Right off the bat I was worried. Several puffs and NOTHING. I stuck with it though and about 10 hits in it started vaping nice and rich!

I'm always up for something better though so I'm off to check out these 'bud atomisers' that mdocks just suggested.

I want to address two things: First the Stardust (Vision Clearomizer). They kinda suck IMO. At least on a KGO. You have to clean it before you even use it, that was your first mistake. Put water in it and shake it like a thermometer, repeat about 5 times. Then shake out the water as hard as you can and put it on your battery and burst it for about 6 seconds at a time with a couple to few seconds in between for cooling. After around 10 look inside the post and you'll start to see the coil glowing cherry red. Let it burn for a few seconds, cool, and repeat about 4 times once it glows. Now you can take a hair dryer and covering half of the top, blow dry the sucker. Spin it around to get it all dry inside it takes about a minute. Now fill it with juice OVER the lines so that it completely covers the wicks. Wait 10-15 mins for a good solid wicking of the juice and vape away. Now repeat this process every few days and hate the Stardust like I do.

You're better off with a Vision Vivi Nova. They are about 3 times the price but you can rebuild them easily. I don't have time to tell you how to do that but Estarra on YouTube will:
