Strange taste with njoy?

So I've had my njoy for about a week now and have really liked it for the most part (haven't had a real smoke since last Tuesday, in fact!). However, for the past day or two, I've been getting a strange taste, almost like a melting plastic type taste is the best I can describe it. I've already gone through trying different cartridges and taking a look at the atomizer, which looks exactly the same as when I got it, but can't figure out what's going on. The amount of vapor I'm getting is normal, so it doesn't seem like it's degraded performance-wise. Is it possible part of the fibers in the cartridge have melted to the atomizer? I'm hesitant to try and clean it with water and will be sending a note to njoy, but while I wait for their reply, has anybody else come across this before?

From various testing I've done it does seem as if the foam in the cartridge does disintergrate with use. I can't say I'm sure of this, but when I was developing my drip cartridge I found that the cartridge foam was continuing to shrink in size and that I had to keep adding more to keep it the same size. I would try using your e-cig with no cartridge and take 7-10 drags with a fully charged battery to see if it will clean up the atomizer. Good luck.
