Hey guys. I'm pretty new to vaping and I just bought a new Aspire Nautilus tank. It vaped really well for a while and the throat hit was great. I usually vape only Gorilla Vape juice and usually either the "Smurfs Blood" or the USA blend in 16mg of nicotine. The using those juices and the Nautilus really gave an amazing throat hit. The best I can describe it is a punch. It felt really really good and hard. Now the other day I lost my 510 floating pin. So I had to buy another Nautilus head and just took off that pin and put it on my old one. I also bought new juices that were Imperial Blueberry and an Imperial pineapple in 12 mg of nicotine. So I threw in the new pin and poured in my new juice and the throat hit is not the same. It's not as hard as it was before. Now it's fruity, and not much of in irritant in my throat. I hate it. So I took out the new juice and threw in my old USA Blend 16mg (without cleaning the tank) and sometimes I'm getting the old hit, and sometimes I'm not. And I'm still tasting pineapple. So this might be a very stupid question but what is the problem? Is it the juice? Could it possibly be the new pin? Please help. I also use a KTS+ mod. It used to be perfectly fine but now it's strange. Please help.

Found a better way to describe it. The old throat hit I would get felt like a cigarette. Now it just feels like sorta scratchy air going down my throat.
It's the nicotine that gives you the throat hit so you will notice a difference with the lower nic juice. Have you tried the "new" setup with your old juice yet?
flamingotutu yes I tried the new setup with my old juice and sometimes I get the old hit and sometimes i get the new hit. But I also didn't clean out my tank before I filled it. Could that be why I'm still getting the bad hit?
Don't know if not cleaning the tank would do it, I mean the fluid already soaking the wick would be bad for a few hits but then you should be getting what you are used to. Remember, there are some other things you can do to change it a little bit, but for the most part nicotine is throat hit.
Honestly I can’t tell as I’m not familiar with your setup. If the coil is good I would hazard a guess that you’re not getting a consistent connection. Try bumping this tomorrow when there are more folks around if you don't get a solid answer tonight. I’m sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Flamingo it fine man! Every post helps! Thank you for trying to help! Means a lot. And imsoenthused, the coils are pretty new. After work I'm going to try to change the batter and if that doesn't work I'm going to sand down the floating pin connection point a little bit. I think it's a little dirty. But after letting it soak for a night it's giving a pretty good throat hit. Still sometimes a little weak but I'm going to go back and buy some new juice and clean out my tank on Thursday and see if that helps. Is there really that much of a difference in throat hit between a 12mg and a 16mg? I think it might even just be the imperial juice just isn't very good or that fact that it's fruity. Before I had my mod I smoked a couple imperial disposables and they never seemed to have a strong TH.
Yep, could just be the juice. As for the throat hit, I definitely notice the lack going from 18 down to 12mg strength, so yes you can tell a difference.
I have a question too on my juice.. I build my coil at 1.3ohms and running at 9-10watts.. Sometimes the vapour that i experienced is thick but it left me with very dry sensation.. I doubt it was dry hits cos there are no burn taste and the cotton is wicking well..
can anyone tell me what is the problem..? too high power setting..? or the wicking too thick..? I have been troubleshooting it but failed.. Helps will be much appreciated.. thanks..

It could also be the diameter of your coils. You might try wrapping around something with a larger diameter. Also, cotton is a greedy slow wick so make sure you are cutting it off as short as possible. Longer cotton wicks just hold liquid and refuse to give it up to the rest of the wick very quickly. If the wick is too thick you would be tasting a strong cotton flavor, like a wet T-shirt.
well sir.. You just save my vaping life.. So, the problem I have was a long wick.. I'm using Kraken genesis mod, so all this time I put my wick all the way to the bottom (for auto feeding) and didn't notice that the liquid travel very slow to the top.. at the top, after the coil, i left quite a long wick too which i thought will hold the juice more..
So after listening to u and do more research, I decided to cut down the length of the wick, which make the genesis mod that have short wick and everytime I vape I tilt it horizontally so the liquid will flow to the wick.. I forgot what they call this style.. But anyway it solves my problem.. thanks..

You need more Nicotine in your juices... you've gotten used to the level you're at!
That's the good old genesis tilt, glad I could help. You actually can leave it a little longer above a vertical coil to act as a bit of a reservoir. Gravity at least helps pull it down out of that greedy cotton. Just don't go so long that it won't stand up straight above the coil, if it is laying over it just becomes a juice trap.
It's your nicotine. I dropped my level to 6 a week ago since I started using RDAs, dripped a 12 juice I'd been steeping for about 4 months and it's delicious but damn is it strong now! 
Hi there, I would guess you might be ready for a increased percentage of pg. While it's true nicotin also gives a throat hit, it can also be controlled by your pg levels. Why don't you give a 70 pg 30 vg or a 80 pg 20 vg a try and see how you fare. You will definitely get more of a punch with the increase of pg. Remember to drink lots of water as not to dehydrate yourself. But I think you will find more of what your looking for with a pg Increase. Hope this helps. Rule of thumb with juices is vg carries the vapor and pg the throat hit, to put it very basically. Give it a try and see if you like it. Hope this helps. Best wishes
BladeZ, can you elaborate what you mean a dry sensation? Like a dry mouth? That's normal if that is what you meant. And I think it figured the problem, I think it's just the different companies. I tried another juice from the other company that 18mg and it had that fruity, ....ty TH. But now the flavor if my Gorilla Vape came all the way through and the TH is almost always hard and heavy how I like it so I'm assuming it's just the company or maybe the mix they had. I'm pretty sure the fruity crap had more VG in it which didn't give a good throat hit. Thank you everyone for your answers and trying to help!
Now I have my throat hit back, but for the first couple puffs, there's quite a bit of vapor. But after like 3-4 hits, there very little vapor. Wth is going on?
