So I just tried out a juice I mixed up earlier today.
100% VG @ 18mg nicotine. It's so thick I can hardly drip it out of the bottle.
STILL HARSH! How is this possible?
The only common denominator is the nic level and the vendor. But all the pre-mixed juices I buy (not my niv vendor) are 18mg as well and they are all fine. Actually the FSUSA sample I had was 50/50 PG/VG and it was PERFECT.
What am I missing here? I hope I can figure this out or else I will have a toolbox full of DIY supplies to swap out for pre-mixes:(

fmmfl- you said 50/50 was perfect. Maybe you are moving towards the opposite direction with higher VG. Not sure but it is possible the 50/50 juice may be heavier on the PG if they used PG based flavors. why don't you try a small mix of .2ml of you 60mg/ml nic into .8 PG. This will give you about 12mg/ml and 1ml of base liquid. Vape without flavor and see how that feels. If it feels right add about 4 drops of a single flavor and see if that is better. It may work for you. Anyway whatever you try I hope you find your groove.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I will try that tomorrow. The 50/50 was a pre-mix I got from FSUSA, though.
Are you suggesting I try that base mix with my 100%VG nic juice or my 70/30 PG:VG?

I did just vape a few puffs of some straight PG that I have from the same vendor.
I get absolutely ZERO throat hit but I do taste the sweetness that I hear is from PG. It's also very thin. It actually feels smooth in my throat.
Am I the opposite of everyone else? That would be weird. It's either that or nic juice supplier is waaay off.

Suggesting to use the 100% vg nic .2mls into .8mls of Plain USP PG. That will give you a nice 80pg/20vg and you will not waste too much if you don't like it. Everyone is different and I have found my sweet spot to be 80/20. For my base I use 6mls of 100mg/ml PG nic, 32 ml PG and 12 mls VG. This gives me a 50ml bottle of 12mg/ml plain juice. Then when I flavor up small 3ml batches with PG based flavors I end up right about 80/20 and between 10 - 11 mg/ml nic. Hope this helps

VG and PG take a while to mix together, particularly when colder. It could be that the PG in your other mixes were floating on top, which would probably end up very harsh, particularly with a 100% VG mix (if your flavorings are PG-based).

It helps to heat it and shake it, you can use a hot water bath or microwave for a very short time on very low power (or you can melt the bottle).

Thanks for the reply.
That might have been the problem all along. Off to make a few more batches. I will warm them and let them sit all night.
Who knows? Maybe this time tomorrow I will finally have my ratio figured out.
I'm so glad I have a nice, full 30ml bottle of Wyatt earp to vape on while I figure this out. It is such amazing juice.

JUst curious, how are you measuring?

I've noticed that thick liquids tend to have bigger drips when dripping from a bottle. It's possible that you are adding more nic-juice than you realize.

I highly recommend picking up a pipette pump, lets you measure down to .01 mL accurately. One stop sells them, they have 2 mL and 10 mL versions, the 2 mL is good for making small batches.

I buy my measuring supplies from One Stop DIY Shop. I use their Graduated Cylinder for THICK liquids. I find the really thick stuff is hard to measure even with the pipettes. It takes a long time to get the air bubbles out for accurate readings. I have this 100mg nic, 100% VG, it's like glue.

So all this time you have been using juice from the same vendor?
