I've been vaping for 2 weeks now and really struggling I was smoking 2PAD and bought a socialites kit but have since bought a cool fire 1 and a Y1000 but now having problems with burning of the throat and coughing loads, I've tried changing from 24mg and gone as low as 12mg and even changed the av/pg ratio but still same, has anyone got any suggestions as really want to vape only but can't with this happening as I have emphysema

Rick is correct, I just started a few newbies on ecigs and they coughed when they inhaled, even though they were 2 pack a day smokers!

Vapor is just different.

Why not just vape and NOT inhale for a while? Blow it out your nose.....your mucus membranes in mouth, lips, etc. absorb nicotine whether you inhale or not.

I rarely inhale anymore. :)

I noticed it seemed really harsh when I changed over to vape from smoking... So with some trial and error I've found a higher VG ratio liquid is abit smoother and having an adjustable airflow tank you can draw like a cigarette and it doesn't hit as hard. :) Hope you can get through the rough bit then enjoy the lovely world of vaping. :)

I agree with this. If you "must" inhale, be sure to hold the vapor in your mouth for a couple of seconds to allow the vapor to cool, before inhaling.

Drink plenty of water, don't allow your throat or mouth to become dry.

Remember, when you first inhaled a cigarette you likely coughed. It was a foreign substance and your body adapted to it. Vapor is the same way, your body will adapt to it over a short time.

Decreasing the Pg ratio and the nic concentration of the e-liquid was a good move on your part. Try different flavors, too. Some are just naturally harsh.

You know.... there is one thing to add.

Coolfire 1 is 8.5 watts.
Y1000 is a mechanical mod.

Both are going to make far more vapour than (useless) Socialites.....

In fact, I'd bet some serious money that you are vaping with more power than I was even after a year.

All the advice given before me is good advice, but you also might need to factor in what I have suggested too.

do you wear O2 (concentrator? or tank) a gal down at our local B&M that seems to be there every time we are, vapes just fine, I noticed she times it right after the spurts of air that come through the nasal cannula.

those Socialites don't put out much vapor, so it's probably hold it in your mouth (and if using the concentrator time it where it feels right with the "spurt"/puff.

maybe something that produces more vapor, mod and liquid VG is less irritating to some (I know at first it'll make you cough) and a high nicotine count/mg as your absorbtion is decreased with emphysema as the air's trapped in the air sacs, so you're going to be doing less inhales, with less efficacy. Sorry.

it's going to be better than smokes, but there are some ejuices that make me wheeze (COPD and told to stop smoking after damage from the flu that I'd be carrying around an O2 concentrator if not) and I'm breathing fine now, it was tough at first, push though it, anything is better for you than smoking...

keep trying, our local B&M is great, you can try each other's gear, and see what works for you, or get some live human help, if not maybe patches, but keep trying!! good luck!!
