Hey, the site looks spiffy...just went on there looking for a new top because mine has a tiny scratch. Can I get one with an 801 connection? Or is that just out of this world impossible?
Not really an option, the 801 requres a 2mm stem below the connector. I made a total of 8 on the SB ever way back in July 2009. I remember repairing 2 of them. If i recall corectly I intalled 801 adapters onto the repaired one....

Okay, more incentive for me to get this sucker off then, Chad. For Christmas I'm buying the husband a vice!

Did you get it unstuck?

Finally, about 15 minutes ago! The whole family was sick of me walking around with that top, rubber bands, rubber gloves, pliers and juice so it was a timely triumph.

I figured I had nothing to lose so I turned the top upside down and stuck the adapter to its base (where it screws into the atty connector) into boiling hot water. Seconds later I was unscrewing that chewed up adapter and tossing it in the garbage. I wish I could say I took the time to examine it to see if it was defective but I was too through! I had been dabbing hot water around it before, not knowing it needed a dunk.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I hope never to have this happen again but ya never know!

YaY!!Im so glad!!

Thanks, Keyzy! I'm so happy to be vaping without worry again! I have been using adapters without a problem so it was just that one evil adapter that undid me. Y'know, this little mishap validates buying two devices at once. More really is better.

Hope your day was super special!:)

I use adapters all most 100% of the time and get them stuck all the time. I just keep 2 pair of pliers beside me in the drawer. Never scratched one yet.

Thanks, 5cards, for that reassurance about the adapters. I feel less guilt and no worry about all the 801s I have coming.
