I am a fan of those southern baptists. As a catholic boy they always went out of their way to make me feel welcome at their get togethers. They always let me have the best parts of the pig when they roasted it. I didn't know they considered those parts to be such a delicacy but I ate them politely so I didn't seem ungrateful. Their smiles as I ate were reward enough to get passed the sick feeling in my gut.

The best part was that they always let me win the potato sack races and they always put the best rattlesnake in my sack. A potato sack race just isn't as much fun if your snake doesn't rattle and theirs never rattled. I miss El Paso.

Hey MrMagma, I was raised on over west of El Paso, south-west of Lordsburg about 50 miles. I liked the Methodists best because they had really fine fried chicken!

And LD, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. If they can't tell from our stories that we're brothers then they need to be seeing Dr. Pammy. Now old Ab, I never quite could figure out how he made it into the family, but he sure was a cute little bugger!

With another 5 inches of snow on the ground this morning I miss all things Texas. I used to love snow when we could go into the mountains in New Mexico for a day to enjoy it and then leave it behind.

As for fried chicken, no one makes it like they do in south GA. I used to decide which church to go to every week based on which ones were having potluck dinners.

MrMagma - looks like we're pretty close.. lol. Oh how I hate Pennsylvania winters, there's definitely no way to leave it behind here! And half of the time it ends up lasting until mid-April.

Hopefully they get all the roads cleaned off before I have to go into work tonight..

Oh cool. I am in Cambria county. After living in Texas and GA most of my life it is going to take a while to toughen up.

I also know who to hit up for liquid when I am low. :)

Hey, I lived in Butler County in Pennsylvania for a while a long, long time ago!

Too danged cold for me!

And MrMagma, I know what you mean about checking out the pot luck dinners! In New Mexico where I was raised down toward the border, the Catholics always had the best Mexican food! I'd go there every chance I got.

I haven't had authentic Mexican food on forever. I have a hankering for a sopa pilla and some honey.
