All college students... Unite!

I'm a student at Virginia Tech, so believe it or not i'm used to seeing student-run campaigns and the like at least every week or so for any reason under the sun... It's been my experience that college students are really prone to hype (what a shocker) and I wouldn't be surprised to go back to school amid a big stink over vaping on campus.

HOWEVER, i also think it's by far the easiest to have your voice heard on a college campus. Our news papers will publish most anything you send them in the "opinions" section of the paper, for a small fee you can get little table cards on every table in the dining halls, you can have informational sessions for interested individuals for no cost at all, etc...

I know that I will be proceeding on a number of those fronts when I get back to school and would love to encourage all other college students to do the same on their campuses. Convince the 18-25 bracket of the truth, hit Big tobacco where it hurts.

Good Luck with that. However, I have observed that the attention span of college students tends to be somewhere around 2-3 minutes.

I go to Metro State in Denver. We're kind of a strange school (almost all commuter) so I can't use some of your strategies, but I'll do what I can. I'm planning on printing off a bunch of cards with the forum addy to hand out when I'm questioned about my PV. I'm going to be living in the science building this semester, so I figure I'll have a pretty receptive audience. We geeks like our gadgets

I go to Montclair State University which is 14 miles from NYC and the second largest campus in the state of New Jersey.

I too am a Science geek. I am planning on doing what you described so don't worry. I'm doing my Masters in Molecular Biology (continuation from my Bachelor's in the same major) and I will be Graduate Assisting 3-4 science classes which means I will be the sole instructor for Laboratories.

Extra credit to my students who vape during my lectures too.

Excellent point, anyone notice that the ban didn't start until after the spring semester let out, or that the final hearing is the week before the fall semester starts? Sounds like someone is afraid of how fast news travels on campus.

Yup, colleges are great places for movements to start..... until the government gets pizzed and sends in the National Guard to shoot up the place and kill students.

Kent State, anyone? More like Columbine sanctioned by the government.

Good post! I was a college teacher. Students knew I smoked and just couldn't stop and would tell them to never get started or try NOW to quit as it doesn't get easier to. I'm 61--smoked 46 years. So glad to see young activists get on this. I could have quit at least 40 years ago with e-cig. You go! Emma

What a great idea! The college campus is where a great deal of social change can and does ferment. My generation stopped the Vietnam War; I'd love to see your generation break through the barrier of e-cig censoreship ans (in the process) strike a blow for individual liberty.

I go to St Scholastica in Duluth MN. I try to spread the word to all who will listen and most ppl are very open even with the catholic background of the college! Lets start getting more ppl involved... Power comes in numbers. Numbers get heard!
