Study of smokers vs. vapers being conducted at the University of Minnesota

My husband is participating in an e-cigarette study at the University of Minnesota. First he was mailed a questionnaire to fill out and today he went in to have a dna cheek swab test, urine test, several blood tests and a Co2 breath test. They also took a photo of his PV

He quit smoking and switched to vaping almost 3 years ago after being diagnosed with COPD.

His Co2 breath test was the same as a non-smoker! He won't be receiving the results of the other tests.

That is great news that his Co2 breathe test is of a non smokers. So is he concidered a person with copd still?

Thanks! Yes, he still has COPD, but it has improved. The only medication he is on now is Advair.

Hi - thanks! They said that they won't be contacting participants, so to watch for it in the news. It should be pretty comprehensive data with all the lab work they did.

They are basing the entire study on lab results from the individuals, so I think it's possible that the data could be good news.

My question is WHO funded it? That will pretty much determine the results. If it is an independent University study the results should be accurate.
