"Although absolute safety and product quality should be more thoroughly evaluated, the implications of these findings for policy-makers, regulators and health-care providers are clear: prohibiting or discouraging the use of e-cigarettes could be detrimental to public health if smokers are deprived of a highly endorsed and well-tolerated method of smoking cessation."
The truth about e-cigarettes is leaking out to the public
in spite of all the ANTZ and FDA propaganda.

This will be an issue for the FDA's PR department
if they come down hard on the e-cigarette industry.

Yeah, I know - I know
the FDA couldn't care less because they sleep with BP
However, they wouldn't want to get involved with a lawsuit
and lose ... AGAIN !!
:p

It's understood that e-cigarette marketers can't tell the truth
about e-cigarettes being a smoking cessation device...
The FDA would show up with their guns drawn, close their
business and put the marketers in jail.

Only an FDA Approved drug is permitted to proclaim
any health benefits .... Welcome to Regulation Nation
or as some say ... Wussification Nation

Pretty good article. The researchers and media don't quite get it. From the article:

"...76 percent of whom said they started using their devices to replace cigarettes entirely. A much smaller percentage said their goal was to quit smoking or to improve their health..."

One does quit smoking when they replace cigarettes entirely with vaping. I started vaping to quit smoking and reduce the health problems associated with cigarette smoking, not eliminate nicotine. Maybe researchers and media mean the act of "smoking", standing/sitting around inhaling and exhaling something with nicotine. I'm just thinking out loud but I've learned quite a bit the last couple of months...

Regards,
Ray

I didn't switch to vaping for economic or health reasons.
Those were just bonuses that came with switching.

I switched because after 40+ years of smoking 2-3 packs a day ...
I was fed up to my eye-balls and angry that my entire life
was tied to cigarettes. Couldn't go anywhere or do anything
without first checking to see if I had enough cigarettes.

I remember taking my first puff from an e-cigarette.
I was alone at the time and remember saying out-loud
"WOW ... I just quit smoking" !!
