As WhiteHighlights requested, break the link to that garage study. Any story that has the junk-science king, Glantz, quoted in it is nothing more than Big Pharm sponsored propaganda.

It's probably funded by the United States government, of course - Research Triangle Institute is one of the biggest Fat Cats of all. They've gotten a cumulative total of at least $873,438,050 from NIH, of which $245,034,802 came from NICHD and $212,333,755 from NIDA. That's nearly a billion dollars so far.

So now the story is that there is a dearth of credible data on the long-term effects of inhilation of vapor. THEN, whenever a study comes out that gives definitive credible data, either side disregards it based on funding sources.

What's to stop ANTZ from doing the same thing?

UGH. My younger brother posted this to FB. When I replied it's crap, he got into the "well, vaping could be better than smoking, but we don't know enough, there aren't enough studies, and why all the comparison to cigarettes?" I've tried to get through to him before but I fear there is no hope.

He's trying to get more funding from NIH and/or FDA (and he's following Stan Glantz' playbook of demonizing e-cigs to secure federal funding for himself and his colleagues at RTI).
